    #23788672 - 10/31/16 01:53 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Went out hunting for the 4th time this year, i'm a first timer and have done some research but you can only get whats there ey!
Got about 80 yesterday and they're the closest to caps that i've found, but not sure as they don't look spot on.

But if anyone could help i'd apprieciate it thanks

Habitat:
Found on South facing hill, Grass field grazed by a few tups

Gills:
Brown/black, not attached

Stem:
ranging from 5-15cm length, 3-4mm diameter

Cap:
7-20mm,

Spore print color:
Black with a tint of purple maybe

Bruising:
dark bruise on most but can't tell if i could see any blue but saw a tint of something

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

I don't think so, I see a lot of grass in these photos and no dung on the stem bases.  It looks like a very nice collection of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panaeolus_acuminatus.

Comparing the two, I'd say they look more like Panaeolus acuminatus

Hmmm not sure actually

You could be right, but Panaeolus papilionaceus can grow in grass habitats if there is dung mixed in the soil such as if there are livestock present (?). Additionally I think I see remnants of an evanescent veil on the pileus margin, but I could see it going either way.
