Yeah My Mr Good was a good looking affable blond guy. Honestly he was probably a pretty cool guy, I hold no grudge, but at the time I fucking hated him. I can't imagine it was easy having a badass juggalo like me in the classroom.

Pledging allegiance to the flag always seemed like some indoctrination type shit, and once I was in high school I stopped participating.

Yup, no physical contact allowed at my school. High fives could get you put in the office. No sexual education whatsoever.

My mum taught me from a very young age what I feel is the ultimate tool to counteract brainwashing. She often said:
'Question everything. And if somebody tells you to do something and you don't understand why you have to do it, you ask them why.'
Of course I have still been brainwashed at various points in my life, like anyone, but that deeply rooted message has kept me from ever getting dragged in too deep.
I love my mum. What a legend.

It is a kind of weird ritual when you think about it. Pledging to what, not be enemies of the United States or something? Like a pledge to the flag will stop anyone with those motivations to begin with. Even the wording is a bit odd.
I only did the pledge of the allegiance in elementary school though. It wasn't even a daily thing in my middle and high school. Completely forgot about it really.

I had a knack for doing this to teachers at school. Poor bastards. Still, I was only reacting to the oppressive nature of a system that was forcing me to do a bunch of shit I had no interest in doing - becoming something that they wanted me to be, rather than what I wanted to be.
I just stopped going after a few years and started working as soon as I could, after a few years spent getting high and committing petty crimes in the interim. I didn't enjoy that much either, but gang life is gang life. I was 100x times happier once I had the freedom to do what I wanted to and earn an honest living.
Was talking with a friend last night about having kids - he's planning to, I doubt I ever will - but if it ever does happen, they'll end up in one of those fucking brainwashing factories over my dead body.
I fucking despise the schooling system.
