Help me understand the science of mush body load

the questions applies to cactus too. for me, the physical effects are usually quite nice. in the peak i feel a pressure, a tension, an energy, that builds up in my stomach and chest. i'll usually moan and groan with the waves of these sensations. my guess is that it looks odd to an observer. music def contributes to the sensation and helps generate the buildup.
the sensations aren't erotic or sexual, but they are physically pleasing. what's going on here at the biological level? anybody know?

I guess it would have to be the build up of serotonin being released in the brain. Serotonin is a chemical that makes you feel good to put it in short terms.

Serotonin is produced in the stomach as well, as many of the other neurotransmitters the brain produces are found in the other organs, sometimes in higher quantity.

The body sensations you're feeling are called tactile hallucinations. In the same way that the drug causes you to see or hear things differently while you are under it's influence, it can also cause you to feel things differently.

I also experience wonderful physical sensations from mushrooms, and less so from cactus. LSD never delivers in this area, and I have a hard time with it these days because after a period of using a lot of natural psychedelics now when I take LSD I miss the organic body high feeling so much.

Mushrooms (and the classic psychedelics in general) do not cause a release of serotonin in the manner like mdma or cocaine does.

Maybe not a release of serotonin it's self
Psilocin is very similar, molecularly speaking, could have a unique effect different from that of serotonin.

I mean you could have just looked it up in the first place, you know. Instead of just making something up.
Psilocin and psilocybin are partial agonists for certain 5-HT serotonin receptors, which means that they bind to and activate them. It has nothing to do with releasing serotonin.
They do also bind to serotonin receptors in the gut, but that's not what causes the body load. In fact that just causes stomach discomfort and nausea for certain people.
The pleasant body sensations caused by mushrooms are just hallucinations. They are psychological. They are not the result of physiological changes in the parts of the body which are experiencing the sensations.
