Gymnoplius Luteus ID Help Please - Pics & Good Prints

The particulars:
Growing out of wet base of rotting tree. Northern NJ, recent climate conditions, mild fall with some nice moisture and temperature changes as of late.
These have all the tells of Gymn. Luteus. just need a TI to firm it up for me.
Yellow caps, yellow gills rustier and darker with age, rust prints, rust stains on the stems which are fibrous and in some areas have brusised orange/rust gyms often due (per what I've read). Margin slightly hangs over, caps are broad and convex to flat 0.5"-3" with the specimens I found.

Those are a Pholiota species.
The gills and spores are too brown, not rusty enough. The stipes are too thin and fragile, and the aroma is different from Gymnopilus.

well that's a major buzz kill, but your insight is much appreciated... what do you mean by aroma though? i didn't indicate anything on smell? and so you are saying my prints should be more orange in nature? i'm learning so trying to hone in on these guys and have had numerous close calls lately... these are the "rustiest" colored prints I've gotten so far...

I just mentioned the scent because it's something significant to take note with mushrooms, when you finally do find your gyms next summer, you'll notice a very different scent than from these ones.

Hey there, Roger is correct. The specimens you have are Pholiota Lemonis to be specific, check google and you'll see it's a perfect match. I went through this same experience myself so don't feel too bad

The second word , the species epithet is not capitalised.
Pholiotia lemonis is not a real species as far as I know. This doesn't exist... does it?

ugh, autocorrect strikes once again. I did indeed mean P. limonella, thanks Byrain and appreciate the phonetics Roger, I'm still a noob at this and the only reason I even posted was because limonella is one of the only species I know somewhat well. Like OP, I'm also in the northeast and these things have been popping out all over the place up here in the past couple weeks.
