You reminded me of one.  My cousin died at age 17 or so when I was young in a car crash, allegedly on mushrooms  I was probably 11 or 12 or so.

Someone told me that this was his favorite song, or a song he was very fond of at least.  He was a really cool guy, an amazing artist, and had a big impact on me growing up.  I have a bunch of casette tapes I was given by his brother.  It's all Danzig, Slayer, Weird 80s and 90s punk bands that I would never have heard otherwise.

Anyways here's the song, can't hear it without thinking of my cousin Dave.

Oh I loved One ever since it came out. Metallica has a great way of driving home serious topic with metal.

I can never think of them sadly, occasionally a song gets stuck in my head but finding a single random track out of my whole music collection is like searching for a needle in a haystack...

--------------------
Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky

You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by

I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me

I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

Rule 4? :shrug::smirk:

Well, this song is probably my earliest recall of a record I chose to play,
a yellow 78 entitled  "The Teddy Bear's Picnic".
Pretty sure it was this version too. I was about 5(1962).

We had a whole box of hand-me-down kids records from my 4 older siblings,
but TB Picnic was the shit back then...
I didn't discover my oldest brothers Stones and Beatles albums for another 7 years,
same time I discovered his weed stash.

:dancingbear: . . . :peace:

God help me Asante.

Think of the amount if videos that get posted here.

Do us all a favour and at the very least, write the name of the artist and title of the song.

That is not too much to ask.

Thx.

There are like one or two songs from my childhood I still listen to often, but I'm not gonna post them cuz then it'd make them less special to me..

There was a huge thread on a bass guitar forum I frequent specifically about this Metallica discussion :tongue2:

It was about when they started sucking though I think, or when their popularity declined which was heavily debated.

Oh man. I guess I had some hippie vibes back then already.

I still love this song. It helped me through some rough times. It still moves me.

It doesn't matter whether you are christian, muslim, jew, atheist or ascribe to any other belief-system.
It doesn't matter whether you look out to the stars, or under a microscope to the tiniest of particles.
It doesn't even matter what kind of practice you perform to reach your goal.
Because if you keep looking, everything eventually leads to the same truth, like a fractal that contains itself in every direction you take it.
You will find yourself.

I love you.

Blatant self-advertisement.
