Or just modern banking in general. I've barely read anything about "high finance" or economics but am finding it an interesting topic this morning.
Only problem is the writings on such topics are either by rapid conspiracy theorists or rapid statists. Can anyone maybe recommend a book on the subject?

The Creature From Jekyll Island. While at face value, it may seem to fit into your former category of "conspiracy theorists" - it is a well referenced and interesting review of the Federal Reserve bank specifically, and fractional reserve banking in general.

I do favor the conspiracy side of things myself, I just hate it when people lose objectivity because of it
a video I watched on the subject also recommended that book. thanks

Recently I heard that The Fed wants to officially become a "part of the government". The writing on the wall is starting to become a picture of "them" owning everything with the little guys getting completely stiffed.
Great book it's a classic.
