You fantasize this scenario would end your misery, but it would not.

That you claim your life and this existence is "fucked" is based in self-hatred.

Smoking weed can lead many people to deep anxiety, depression, and self loathing.

With the right guidance it would. That is, IF there were structure in the day there, what to do when to do it, then yes, moving through those cycles, work, movement, sunlight, air, sleep, no electronics for a while, does wonders.

I know that my Vipassana retreats were precisely this, structure, fresh air, what to do when to do it (coming from people who knew what they were doing) and it did help me quite a bunch.

I to think that this wise WOMAN concept speaks more of troubles with mother, that may be good to look at and fix in some way, not necessarily with the physical mom, the actual person, as much as the archetype, relationship with females in general, without which to my knowledge most men can't function to well, can't really thrive. Why bother getting up in the morning if there's no warm caring arms to hug me, or a pair of nice eyes to throw a smile at me, to make the moment magical? If that's not there why bother?

Or give up women altogether go live some monk / hermit existence, but again, this wise WOMAN fantasy gives the game away, of what's longed for here

This right here.

Or at the very least, over-focus on the parts of reality one dislikes, perceives as not working, impossible to get to work, etc. Definitely some focus issues, some story about external reality -kind of issues.

I feel it's not the weed that brings anxiety, it's whether or not one uses the weed to escape and suppress actual feelings. If one tries to block and suppress what comes up from within (abdomen region, where we get the butterflies when in love) then things go sour. Generally people are learned this stuff back as kids and teens, when parents/peers/whoever, reprimand them for expressing emotions freely and sincerely.

Seen a ton of that myself, some parents are pretty full of shit themselves, have not done much work of clearing themselves before having kids of their own, and so they lay on thick layers of their shit on everybody around, but more so on the kids, who have no real defenses, they start life wide open, forced to cope with whatever's thrown at them.

I know I'm still exploring this exact journey, initially I thought it's just, "trip a few times and you'll just draw happy hearts and mandalas the rest of your life". ANd that is possible, but to get there you have to draw ALL emotions as they come, the good and the bad, some days it's happy mandalas, some days it's what your ex's head would look like with knives and nails in it.

Express that, get it out of your system and what's left is happy life and joy.  Smoke drink or otherwise distract from the shit coming up, you're looking at basically more and more distraction (raising the dose) and fighting more and more of yourself, that is screaming at you for expression, being heard and addressed.

So many people I talk to say (in retrospect) weed caused them anxiety and depression.

For more than two decades I believed the thought "Pot enhances my life!"

How many people don't use weed to escape and suppress feelings?

I suspect it's about the same number who don't get drunk to suppress emotions.

I haven't slept for the past few days, got woken up early by noises, but, I can sleep through some. So, it's not that. I got four hours sleep, then I woke up, needing the toilet.

Everything hurts, and it struck me. When i'm well rested I can numb myself to the pain, blot out everything. But, this existance is fucked. I listen as even before the sun comes up, noise happens, noise of the not too far road filling up with traffic as people give away their energy chasing money, the worst spell ever cast on humanity. People used to build their own shelter and were self sufficent, but these days will be punished and forcibly evicted from their shanty's, the treatment of the homeless is sheer madness.

I just want to wake up, to find I'm right in the middle of the forest somewhere. It's warm, there's all kinds of good things to eat, I have a log cabin with a good warm fire and nice clean sweet water to drink. Maybe a wise woman lives nearby who can teach me how to live in nature, to rehabilitiate me, and all the other humans living in an inhuman system.

Something has to be better than this world of perpetual war, pollution, disease and all pervasive poison. Sometimes, I like to imagine those worlds, were people just get on with their lives, there's no need for violence because everyone's figured out how to get over selfishness (and that fear that you'll starve if you don't fucking steal every crumb from your peers). I imagine that world and it's folk full of happy lives where their energy is focused on whatever they want to bring fourth, not struggling uselessly in an office or other shit place of work. I dream, and then I wonder why reality is this way, who perpetuates it and why, and how it can change.

Maybe someday. I just doubt I'll live to see it. In which case, I seriously wonder what's the purpose in this life, or the lives of 99.90& of humanity who are undergoing a very similar struggle.

Live out your dream. Its possible to live essentially in the woods and commute to work. You need a rural area with a nearby highway. Just get a bank loan for a plot of land and build a driveway and put a nice double wide trailer on it, put in well water and septic, and commute to the nearest factory via the highway.

You can change your condition if you choose to. Your dream is not at all unrealistic, and can be accomplished in 3-4 years at the most if you work real hard towards it. If you want it then do it.

A person can snap your neck in two.  Machines can smoosh your bones thinner than a sheet of paper without needing to think.

What happens in life does not cause us to be depressed.

Our perspective of life creates our depression.

i will admit, ancient philosophies, though i do not believe they truly elevate life at this point with their exact dictums and dialectic, they ARE very insightful and interesting and can plumb from history some very fine ideas. i just say: whether with old or new, you need to make your own choices, thus, things always change, and as such, change is necessitous to comprehending life in the contemporary time and world.

That life equals change often results in the resistant attitude, "THIS LIFE SUCKS"

correct.

but life also sucks for one other plain and simple reason...people.

people suck. people = suffering.

of course there are ways to see the good in people...i phrase it as such: i love what people do, not what they are.

and i don't love what they are because they, like life, are precarious and i would say not to form attachments on a whim to any human being as what they are as a human being in itself.

they need to prove themselves. trust has to be earned. trust may lead to my being able to love someone, though...of course, i cannot trust that i should love whom they are past their character, because they are, like everything else, subject to change.

what i love in a person, more, is what they, people, do.

but i've always been on the fence on whether there is a God or any kind of spiritual side that is wholly good...i see whatever is there as more neutral, than anything else; giving alot more poignancy to life, but also, making my perspective on life more or less based on a balance.

i have encountered a lot of eastern esotericism in my collective experience. i definitely respect it, when it's used for good, in my eyes.

Because people don't behave like you want them to.

Neither does the weather.

Neither does the stock market.

Same with traffic.

If you claim people suck, it certainly effects you.

Anytime we reject reality, we change much about how we experience life.
