Did any of you feel brainwashed as a kid?

Looking back, the elementary schools I went to tried to teach me to fear authority intensely. Kids would get punished for misbehaving ever-so-slightly, and the punishment was usually psychological in nature - to make you feel ashamed, or ostracized from the rest of the class.
I remember in 1st/2nd grade we had this one stupid system, for example. Everyday after lunch, adults would escort children out of the cafeteria and onto the playground one row at a time. If anyone talked during that time, then that person was "last." This meant that they had to wait until everyone else went outside, and then a few more minutes before they got to recess. I never saw a point to that except to make kids feel like shit for nothing.
And then there were certain teachers who would use their position of authority to force you to stroke their egos, like they got some sort of subconscious sexual gratification from it or something. It was kind of weird. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Nothing out of the ordinary really, I was always out of line and had to deal with a lot of bullshit because of that, teachers would lie and say I was cheating, stuff like that.
Didn't really care, was expelled from all the local schools by the 7th grade and didn't do anything until college. The sad thing is I basically did nothing in school for the most part and transitioned into college without any issue, that says loads about our education system.

I think to be raised in a Christian home, is to be raised in an environment which is rife with brainwashing techniques.
I was raised in such a home.

Nah man, I strongly disagree. There are open minded people from all walks of life. Believing in God does not mean a home is rife with brainwashing techniques.

Uh yeah but more so being made to feel I was a bad kid, I had undiagnosed anxiety disorder, and all of my anxiety appeared to everyone else that I was a difficult kid. I always tried really hard but would fail a lot and became convinced I was just a bad kid because I couldn't do like everyone else.

You don't feel the brainwash. The brainwash happens without your knowledge.

School IS indoctrination, its braimnwahing, its intended to be. its useful and its harmful.
Its been much worse than it is today, but its nowhere near right now.
Children must be free, not drilled like soldiers.
ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL.
STOP MEDICATING THE MISFITS.

Yes but not by the school system. I think the large majority of brainwashing is from our parents.

You're right, believing in God does not mean a home is rife with brainwashing techniques, believing in religion often does mean just that, and I believe religion and a spiritual belief in a deity, to be two different things
Would you agree with that?
Personally I have seen more negative come out of religion than I care to talk about.
I have known Christians that didn't go to church, or get involved in church functions, because they found they didn't need church in order to practice their faith, and they weren't bad people at all, as if I could judge anyone anyway.
Then you have the majority of your religious members, who in my opinion use church as an extension of their personal lives, and use its communal closeness to spread their vapid lies about others, it's just a social gathering, and all a show, with very few willing to actually work towards making society better.
Maybe one of you Christians can clear this up for me, but the bible says where "two or more are gathered in gods name, then that is church" or something like that, so then why even go to some building where your relationship with your deity is heavily influenced by a middleman (pastor/deacon/etc)?
If god is great, then any layman should be able to have access to its glory, without the need for the middle man. If I want a relationship with a person in life, I don't go about forming a relationship with that person through someone else, that would be strange, I go to the person I want the relationship with and open up a line of dialogue.
Religion is strange. People are strange, myself included in that.
