Where/how do you obtain new music?

I recently began to buy music albums occasionally. I listen to elusive kinds of music (no hipster) that don't come on the radio. I'm generally a penny pincher though and I feel kind of bad for buying music when most of it's free on Youtube.
However, I like to have music that I can play on my phone and put in my pocket. I know there's something like Youtube Red, where you can play music videos without the pause when your screen goes to sleep or when you put your phone away, but I think that costs money too. In addition, using Youtube-to-Mp3 converter got old because the sound quality was shit, and the artist/track information doesn't sync to Windows Media Player nor my phone's music library. Also the website hasn't worked for me as of late.
So what do you guys do when you want to actually download music that you can take with you and put in your pocket, and listen to even when there's no Internet around?

Ive never really thought of that.. I'll probably just wait for the Internet to com back on, or buy the CDs instead, or I'll probably just borrow random music from friends..

My music collection is mostly flac and finding lossless torrents for rare or unknown artists is too much work and often they don't even exist.

I'm pretty sure the whole point of this thread was to not buy CDs. Music stealing used to be so easy, or I would just pay 99 cents for a song I wanted. I not sure if the simple easy way is still around. Then it got too easy with torrents, and Pirates Bay or whatever, and I just wanted to steal a couple songs from Dropkick Murphys or Stones, and maybe I didn't understand the navigation but it seemed like if you wanted anything you had to steal the whole catalogue which was hundreds or thousands of songs, which I didn't want because I already bought most on CD.
And then they changed the whole strategy of enforcement. First they tried to charge some lady a little under $200,000. Good luck with that. She stole quite a few songs but nothing worth that. Now the new strategy, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense is to have your internet provider, first warn you and if you persist, then dump you. So what, you get a new internet provider.
So anybody know the old fashioned way of just of just grabbing a few songs here and there. If you're not really computer adept, it seems torrrents attract attention.
and on a completely different subject, I've got many orders of less controlled pharms from overseas with a better than 95% success rate. I don't want to mess with the dark web, because I'm not that adept, and give that, I think I would be taking more of a risk.

Nope.
I used to use Spotify a lot and go for the Discover Weekly thingo. Pretty good.
Nowadays I just go the YouTube and follow related songs, browse channels etc., then download the torrent of the ones I think are really great.

CDs > FLAC and compressed files, artist label or bandcamp, forums, outright torrenting.

I have about 20 CDs I bought for my car, because it only plays CDs (bit old). I support the artists where I can.
