"Organic" produce in plastic containers

Have you ever seen anything at the store like this?

The label claims to be organic obviously. Assuming that it's organic (which I'm sure some would contest that assumption but I'm not trying to go there), it's pretty safe to assume that the plastic container is not BPA-free, right?
If it were BPA-free, wouldn't it be obvious to expect for them to declare it everywhere all over the packaging?
And if it's not BPA-free, what are our options for getting produce that's not soiled with plastic chemicals?

It's a polyethylene pet plastic. At cold and room temperature, these leach such a small amount of whatever into the contacting water, it's so small that it is basically non existant. Heat it up though and it'll leach more.
BPA isn't a real concern imo. You've been wiping your ass with BPA laden toilet paper you're entire life.
Another thing about BPA free is, the BPA free products are probably using a similar compunds to BPA which is less tested and its toxicity could be mostly unknown.

Research more, if you're more skeptical in your reading, you'll find more info, there's a lot of misinformation. Ive come to the conclusion that the BPA scare is bs.
Theres no escape from the chemicals when living in a developed country

I'm starting to believe that too. And I'm aware of how much of an open system the environment is, and how futile it is to protect yourself from certain things. Still, I've read a small bit about the effects of BPA and it seems worth my effort to avoid it if I can. I have read that exposure is linked to enlarged prostate and pre-cancerous signs or something like that. I'm really pretty ignorant about these things, but I'm busy and don't have the time to spend hours digging through this stuff with a microscope. But if there was a simple way to avoid it or reduce my exposure, then I would take that path.

Those containers are always such a rip-off, you can get the entire lettuce head or bushel of kale for 99 cents while those containers go for $3-$4. The only time I buy those things is for arugula, because I don't see them being sold by itself in the market ever.
My suggestion to you would be to simply buy the whole vegetable as they come.
Also I wouldn't be too worried about BPA or plastic consumption in something like that. It would concern me much more if it contained liquid, especially if that liquid is hot, which releases chemicals from the plastic.

I live in a small town where there's a Wal-Mart and a Kroger's. I'll look, but I don't know that I'll be able to find bushels of kale.

Just FYI there's several different types of kale, sometimes they look like this and other times they look like the ones on the bottom. Just so you know what to look for. These are the 2 most common types of kale found in markets.

Why kale though? It isn't really appropriate for every recipe

This.
As of now, I buy those plastic tubs and just take handfuls out and eat it raw. I don't use a recipe.
I look at it as a multivitamin.

Nobody said you have to use it for every recipe. I mentioned kale because has the most nutrients, and it also has a really long shelf-life. So you buy a couple bushels and it'll easily last 2-3 weeks in the fridge.

I dont know why you're worried about BPAs when your organic produce is frequently loaded with highly toxic chemicals and pesticides, just because it's labeled organic doesnt mean it's pesticide free, it just means the pesticides are approved for organic production
