Liberty Caps?
    #23782512 - 10/29/16 12:26 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

New picker here and first poster here!

Read up a fair bit on liberty cap identification and think we may have found some. Just got a few to take back and do some spore prints to be sure before picking a bunch.

Here are some pics, sorry if they're not clear. Your advice would be much appreciated!!

Location: South-West England
Gills are creamy white or brown,
Stem is long and thin and silvery brown in colour
not a distinct scent to me

Here are some pics

No.  Probably a Psathyrella sp.

One of the ways that this mushroom differs is the stem.  The stem of your mushroom is fragile, while the stem of a liberty cap will be very strong (I've heard it described as being possibly to wrap around your finger without breaking).

Thanks a lot - going to have another go in the morning and look harder. I suppose they're not that nippley either in hindsight
