Need help identifying this microscopic structure!
    #23781001 - 10/28/16 07:11 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Hey Everyone,

I have no idea where to post this, but am just hoping someone will see it who is an actual mycologist. What is this microscopic structure: http://imgur.com/a/ClWJd??

There is also a macroscopic pic of the fungi (prbly a rust) in the link, and I think the structure is a telium or uredinia before the epidermis splits, but really not sure at all.

Thanks for the help!!

I don't see the fungus in the macroscopic photo? The microscopic photo might be pycnidia?

The macroscopic is a leaf with fungal growth (brown spots) on it. The spots look like a rust fungus but not sure. Could be a pycnidium, but do rust fungi have pycnidia??

I don't think its a rust. Not sure what it is though. What kind of plant is it growing on?
