SOON just a few uncolonized sunflower seeds left. it was inoculated with an MS syringe i made myself a few weeks ago, can't remember the exact date. damn me for not keeping a journal. and i realize the myc looks fluffy (if you can see from the shitty pic) and might be bacterial but i'll give it a try and make two trays with 1:1 spawn ratio. next week is agar time, finally.

I'm just assuming that the mycelium colonizes the shell and leaves the actual seed ready for contamination. I just personally wouldn't feel right about using them.

my girlfriend froze all of my cultures. I haven't had the talk yet, but I have a feeling this was some kind of effort to keep the food in the fridge from expiring
I was just about to start testing my pan jam transfers. 5 different types of LC are also probably dead.

My fridge killed a few of my recent cultures because someone bumped the temp control knob with a milk carton. Now I have my own fridge just for my hobbies out in the man cave, thinking about installing a digital thermostat controller on it soon for piece of mind.

I have another refrigerator, but it doesn't have temperature control like the one in my kitchen. So I didn't trust it. Mad years, bro. Mad tears.

I recently acquired some new cultures but had to go out of town, so I instructed my partner to refrigerate the cultures till I got back and could work with em. Well I was pretty upset to come home and find the plates frozen; I had little hope they had survived. However, after a few days at room temperature I began to see a little recovery so I made transfers from the healthiest mycelium I could find. All transfers were successful, all of the cultures survived the freeze and are expanding at the same rate as a KSSS clone being transferred on the same days.
So perhaps all hope is not lost. If you really need those cultures, they might be able to be saved. As for me, I cannot wait to put these new genetics to grain

Duuuude.
This is exactly why the girlfriend of a cultivator should be included in the project and learn a few things. You must teach her.
Mine will be helping with some rye prep later today for example. Having someone who can mist and fan for you or check temp while you're at work is nice too.
