Crumbling BRF Cakes After Flush

Hello Everyone,
This is my first grow and I followed the PF Tek to a T using BRF cakes. Disappointingly they do not seem to be yielding too much. They have been in SGFC for a week. I've noticed posts and pics from others who crumble the cakes first in between two layers of verm and they seem to be getting much bigger nicer fruits.
My question is, could I crumble up the cakes after they have been fruiting already for about a week? And do you think this would help with a better yield at this point or no?
Thanks in advance.

I can't tell you too much myself, but you will get better responses if you describe the kind of yield you're getting and share pics.
Personally I've had my cakes in a SGFC for 3 weeks and have not been able to harvest anything, despite 20+ pins/starts per cake. It's cold here, but I'm not giving up yet. Waiting only 1 week seems too soon to do anything drastic.

It's not really adisable to use cakes for spawn after thry have already been fruiting but it's only been a week. You could probably get away with crumbling your cakes and mixing them into a bulk substrate. I'd use a mix of coir and verm rather than straight verm though. You also want to rince your cakes in cold water before crumbling.

Ok so I would still be called a noob. But I had 10-15 successful grows, when I did it like 9 years ago. I would advise against it as the mycelium has most likely by now shifted to fruiting not growing. To do so would force it to have to go back into a growing phase as it would all have to grow together again. This will waste valuable energy and may possibly mess it up. I have far more experience in horticulture with plants. This would be like taking a Marijuana plant that has started budding and revert it back to vegetative growth. It can be done but with Marijuana it takes a few weeks to get the hormones to change and for it to take place. I strongly feel it would be unneeded stress on the mycelium and not a good idea. NOW I could be wrong. There are others on here who have hundreds of grows under their belt and they may chime in and say its ok, but I get the feeling many of them will also advise against it.
Read up on fruiting in a SGFC and make damn sure you have the environment perfect for fruiting. When they do decide to go it will be fast.

Be patient and wait longer. Crumbling them at this point is most likely going to be counterproductive.
