Best indoor light cycle for cacti?
    #23777278 - 10/27/16 03:57 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

I just looked it up and read 12/12 is good but with the colder temps here it would be nice to have an extra hour before the sun goes down and up.

Anyone here have experience trying a few things out? I definitely was pushing 12/12 or even maybe 14/8 when I had my light up last winter so I am not too worried.

Just interested to here what the EG has to say on the subject.

I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

I've read they do most of their co2 uptake at night, unless you (over) water them

Still though 8-10 hours of night seems like plenty of time for them to get what they need done.

I definitely over water some of my cacti  I have some pereskopsis growing semi hydroponic becouse the roots are growing out the pots into the wet soil in the tray below :tongue2: I was really surprised to lift a pot up and see a huge dangling root system! It happened on a few of my trichs too though I am more careful to let them dry out generally.

14+8=24?

I have all of mine in a a window on 12/12 but I don't see why more would hurt.

I am really stoned and have been distracted today so I didn't really take the time to think the math through :stoned:

I ended up setting it for 6:00 PM - 8:00 AM but I will probably change it a bit.
