My dog is eating a squash
    #23777061 - 10/27/16 02:59 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

I noticed her looking shady nibbling on something on her bed so I inspected only to find she has a little squash she nabbed from my garden she is eating :tongue2:

I took it away from her and she got really upset and was throwing a fit so I gave it back to her and she ran outside with it where she is slowly eating it now.

Apparently raw squash is hard on dogs stomachs so I just nabbed it from her to broil in the oven for a little, she already ate like 1/4th

What are some random things your dog/pets eat?

It's good to feed dogs veggies, just make sure which ones you feed them are OK for them to eat.

I think grapes are bad for dogs, and chocolate, but those aren't veggies are they.

Off topic, but if you ever get some really small pups you have to stimulate them to poop by rubbing their butthole with a warm wet rag, it's like their mom licking their asshole, great mental picture, but true.

Yeah I have been reading a bit about dogs diets. Would be cool to grow your dogs food yourself, would be much cheaper and healthier too and probably not too hard.

Never heard of grapes but chocolate definitely is in large amounts. Though really just dark chocolate as most commercial crap as very little if any theobromine.

I still try to keep any chocolate away from dogs in general but I have seen other dogs get into chocolate chip cookies and other stuff and be alright

Dogs can have milk chocolate without dying. You wouldn't want them to eat a whole chocolate bar or anything, and you wouldn't want to just give them chocolate as a treat, but they won't be hurt by a tiny bit.

It's dark chocolate, cocoa and raw cacao that will kill them or injure them, as these contain the stimulants that are deadly to dogs.

Yeah I know, I eat a lot of cacao and dark chocolate so I have always been careful to not spill any or leave it in reach.

My dog ate an entire toblerone bar once.

Pretty sure I just made one or two others, I was considering looking for one to bump but said fuck it :stoned:

Plus I mean, come on. It was a squash :tongue2: I should have taken a pic or video as my pup looked pretty funny playing with it and chewing on it.

I used to not like squash as a kid but the past few years it has really grown on me :awesomenod:

She can be a cool dog but she is also a major bitch. For example a little bit ago she got all riled up and literally sat next to me on the couch snipping at my face and making ridiculous sounds. It was all to get me to play but she takes it way to far. Another example is her constantly biting my hands/ feet  Usually gently thankfully though I did have to teach her.

But when she gets really excited, which is daily, she can't keep herself from jumping and scratching/ biting. She is spastic, needs some serious training.

I have met some cool wild cats, not sure if I have seen any feral dogs but I can see them being pretty badass. Adopting animals in need is always great too

That is funny would make me laugh

I like to play with other people's dogs can't have one with my cats around right now would probably have to be a puppy  ?

I haven't seen any in canada or America some places in Europe in the small towns they are allover only the strong survive out there

Lots of cats too they look like little tigers in big gangs like 25 cats or so all hanging out they take off like wild if you try to come close it's funny  also sad they will eat anything

The dogs are cool seen two roll together one night to drink water they want food

It's really diffrent out there all the towns are old as in ancient and everything is designed like a church or castle sourunded by mountains and almost rainforest like bush where you can drink water out of the ground all kinds of mushrooms to pick if it rains

Seems like so much in North America is very plastic has alot of nice stuff too just you know what I mean

Seen my friends dog get into a fight with a wild boar he got hit in the chest a bit still wanted to fight ended up being ok

Those boars are tough sounds like a horse can feel them gallop in the ground and one of those could take my knees out if it wanted to lol would want to climb a tree if one comes running my way

It makes me laugh for awhile but eventually it gets old, I have so many scratches/ minor scars from her claws and teeth already  Nothing serious at least.

Playing with other peoples pets is always nice, especially when you can tell they are neglected and they really appreciate it.

I have never seen a pack of stray animals but I imagine it would be pretty interesting, definitely sad there's so many abandoned animals though.

Dogs playing together is a lot of fun to watch, I wish my pup had a sibling to play with. I wonder if she would bond with a cat...

I was just reading about a cool small old European town with a monastery that brews liquor using an ancient secret recipe that uses over 130 plants.

Its called Chartreuse and is based on an old recipe for an "elixir of long life", sadly its really expensive and the recipe is a secret. I want a bottle now

I agree in part but I would argue that is true of almost every "modern" country, Pretty much every state in the US has tons of beautiful nature. Not to mention Canada. Sure there are a lot of big cities but they are very spread out in many cases and there is a lot of open nature. Of course I live in a great state for nature so maybe I am biased :tongue2:

Dogs can fuck shit up, I have known some pit bulls that could probably hold their own against a decent sized boar, that would be a brutal fight though!

My dog would eat anything. But hand him a chicken wrap and everything but the lettuce would be gone. Silly dog.

One cat likes peanutbutter

Another likes eggs

Used to feed another one at the table, he would sit on a chair and eat off a plate for a little bit

IDK, despite what I've read I never saw anything bad happen to a dog from eating choclate. One of my sisters dogs (the one of the 3 that they all admit shouldn't have been rescued; too much previous damage to rehabiliate) jumps on the kitchen island eats almost an entire pan of choclate desert before we know it. My sister's husband  is the only one that can discipline this dog (all 3 are small) but he got his arm ripped open in the last year.

On the subject of vegetables, my last grad school roommate had a good hound dog named chloe. I was kind of economically well off at the time, and I was buying fresh aparugus and just cutting off the tips to saute in butter or steam. I would give the rest to Cloe who would  chomp them all down raw. One day Kurt said she doesn't really like those, she just thinks theyre supposed to be good because you're giving them to her. IDK.

When I was a kid in the 60's our half spriger spanial half cocker spaniel loved iceberg lettuce, but only if had Italian dressing on it.

I know I am a slacker, I meant to get some as I fed her the baked squash but she was timid.

I think it was an acorn squash from the shape of it, I had a few small plants in my garden though.
