First Time Grower: Mushrooms are dying?
    #23776384 - 10/27/16 11:22 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

Over the last couple days, I've noticed the mushrooms on one of my cakes have stopped growing and have turned a darker color. It looks like it's shriveling up and dying and I have no idea what to do.
I've been keeping a detailed journal about my grow. I'm following the classic BRF PFtek.

I'm using a shotgun fruiting chamber.

I've been spraying and fan religiously.

They went from this (when the discoloration just began)

To this

Is it dehydration or do they need more light? I keep a fan near them to keep the air moving, should I stop that? Any info helps!

Seriously? I'm an idiot. Can I still pick them and keep them or have they gone bad?

you need more perlite in you sgfc.

how do you normally keep it? was the first pic how it sit? if so it
needs to be raised off the surface. put something under the fc to lift it up.

what kind of light do you have? 6500k is best. day light spectrum.

More perlite. I'll make sure to remember that next time.

No, it sits up on a wire crate. It always has at least 6 inches on all sides.

I've got two 5000k daylight LEDs on them. I have two lights because the lid if opaque (apart from the holes obviously), so I keep a light on either side.
