I pray my neighboring state passes full legalization of marijuana this election, recent polls show 60% in favor of it.

Your "neighboring state"? That's not very solid is it.

Trump = State's Rights Advocate
So you should consider where your home state is headed.
Trump will clean up the heroin/cocaine smuggling across our border, though, so you junkies will just have to deal.

Hillary isnt gonna start sending the DEA after legal shops on a state by state basis, either.
"Leave it to the states" is a cop out, we dont know where Trump actually stands on drugs, but its irrelevant. The drug war will end when enough states legalize it. Federal decrim of marijuana is fast approaching, but I dont see much changing in the way of other substances.

Trump is a disaster for legalization. Mr. "law and order", never met a dictator he didn't like. Think of all those door to door raids to get rid of those illegals aliens and bad druggies. The concentration camps will be filled.

Massachusetts has full marijuana legalization on the ballet, I live 10 minutes from the border.

Nice.
Medical will likely pass here in FL but its some of the strictest language in the nation. You basically have to have MS or cancer to get a script

Recreational use of marijuana is expected to pass in California. That would be HUGE.
-------------------- I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them. I also attack my side if I think they're wrong. People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

I doubt federal decriminalization is anywhere close, considering not even half the states have legalised anything

theoretically, federal DEA re-scheduling should have had to come before marijuana was approved for any purpose in the US. The current state of affairs where the states are operating in direct conflict with federal law and regulation is probably a good thing. If the states maintain de facto control over drug policy, loosened restrictions on MDMA, LSD, etc. might not be such a pipe dream.

Whelp, we know who the big cheese is going to be now. Jeff Sessions is no friend to liberalizing drug law. Prepare to go underground once again. Dive! dive! dive! http://dailycaller.com/2016/11/19/trump-cabinet-pick-sparks-anxiety-in-the-marijuana-industry/

i think legalization of marijuana is making hard line stances on drugs look sillier by the day. if the GOP doesn't budge on drug policies, it could be a pivotal issue for voters. support for the drug war is at an all time low, even among right wingers. sure, they might put a loud mouth in the AG slot to please the old folks, and he will surely do some fucked up things. but what are they really going to allow him to do beyond what he does for show? let's not forget that marijuana is becoming big business here. legalizing drugs is a lot more profitable than locking people up for them. we should all know that politicians' loyalty will always be with the people who are making money. politicians invariably siding with big business is what got us here in the first place. are they just going to stop doing what they've always done? it seems unlikely.
but that doesn't mean that privately owned prisons are going away. they'll just turn them into 'rehab clinics' for 'addicts'. that way, everyone's bread gets buttered on both sides. that's way scarier to me than just good ole prison. but hey, we live in what's becoming a pretty scary place.
