I learned to do it freshman year. Wrestling. Dropping from 119 to 112. I was always sick. But I took first in regions and I got matched up with the #1 seed in state. Was dominating him but my body failed me.
Was so tired of running. My practice partner accidentally made my nose bleed and I sat there and just let myself bleed out. It's weight.
I take starving myself as a challenge. Your crazy if you think you can compete with me. That was my life. Later on any coach that asked you know if you cut you can win state. Yes I know but no never again.
Than I tore the muscle from my bone in my hip in practice. Zzzz. I still drop from it. Have to walk it off.
I got offered scholarships and all that. I'm done. My hip is fucked and a lot of my joints. I feel like I'm 50 at 25.
I used to just let people win. Fuck I don't even care I've been running for 6 hours straight to suck every ounce of water out of my body. I don't regret any of it was fun but that's where I learned it from.

At 130 I threw our 215 around like it was nothing. He could not beat me and he was a state champ.
I went to our coach and asked him as I've always been small teach me the art of deflection. So he did. I remember one day we had a Saturday practice and I was drunk as fuck. He beat the fuck out of me. Very technical.
It's like playing chess and I know when I lost.
This kid that had 20 lbs on me could not beat me. He slammed the mat crying why can't I beat you. I just told him I want you to. Never did. It's not about weight it's about control.
Shit I should named this thread wrestling. I do miss it a ton.

What's the longest you've starved yourself? Personally I've gone 3-4 days and that's it. When i was in high school i tried starving myself to death a few times. For some reason this seems to be my preferred suicide method. At least if i fail it i don't wind up in a hospital with all the airmchair psychologists in my family bugging the hell out of me. Nope, if i fail at starving i just eat and that's the end of it.
Now this isn't really starving, but I've gone month's before eating maybe 3-4 meals a week, and a bag of chips 2-3 times a week in that same timeframe.
I hate eating. Working fast food killed it for me. Seeing people take shit, put it in their mouths, then shit it all out. It just grosses me out all around. I feel the food as it moves through my body. I can point to where in my gut my last meal is right now, i think i could tell you which organ it is in (realistically i probably don't know the difference between big/small intestine in terms of feeling it, only based on timeframe) as we speak (It's currently entering my colon, I'll have to shit in about 3 hours, then my meal from earlier tonight will enter into my large intestine)
Eating is gross. I weigh 110 and am 6'2". Fuck eating. 90% of my diet is liquids

I'll agree with you somewhat. Fruit is miles ahead of the rest, but i still get sick of it way to quick to enjoy eating much.

I've known alot of women to suffer from bulimia and anorexia. The long term health effects are as bad if not worse than overeating fast food all day. It's an extreme in the opposite direction but seems to come to similar long term health effects. My ex's mom had it bad. I rarely saw her eat more than lettuce and most of the time she'd end up puking that up.
She was in her late 40s and looked like she should be in her mid 60s. First she was under 90lbs. She developed severe osteoporosis and arthritis. Her ankles snapped like twigs in a car accident (and because the ER underestimated how fragile she was didn't xray them and she found out a month later she was walking on broken ankles) so she didn't drive anymore. The medicine and malnutrition definitely started to effect her mind. She couldn't speak clearly and get mad at super irrational things.
When she found out I was dating her daughter she came at me swinging her little boney fists screaming about how I'm evil for turning her daughter into a faggot. I just wrapped her up and picker her up and pressed her into a corner and held her still till she promised to let me leave. I've had children put up better fights.
Last I heard she had a heart attack. I dunno how shes doing now, that was 6 years ago. Wouldn't surprise me if she's dead or bed ridden.

I could never starve myself, I have to have sugar to think clearly and function properly.
I have found my happy medium where I am at now, I can eat whatever I want and still look good, so for that I am grateful. Of course genetics plays a huge role in that too, and there are no truly fat people in my family.
It's strange, sugar from junk food gives me a rush then I crash out, but sugar from healthy foods makes me have sustained energy without the crash. I know some people say your body processes all sugars the same, but I feel like that is false, might be psychosomatic though, where I am thinking that because the sugar came from a bad source, it's going to effect me in a negative way.

This thread reminds me of the good ol' days. When I was in Jr. high I wrestled 145 and my best friend was my size but wrestled a good 10-15 lbs under my weight...he could kick my ass on a mat. One day I saw him taking some pills at lunch, he said they were diuretics....his dad (who was an ex state champ wrestler) got him the prescription. He was in 8th fucking grade and his lips were splitting open but he was a great wrestler. I quit shortly after that...anyway, that was in the 70's...I saw him a few years ago and he is now pretty overweight....son just died of a H overdose. .....life

Interesting you started this topic, I was just looking up Eugenia Cooney (that anorexic 60lb YouTube chick who became viral for posting a "how to twerk" video because she literally had no ass).
She's 60 fucking pounds, I don't know why she didn't stop 20 or 30 pounds ago:
I really don't understand people who starve themselves, I feel like giving up food is one of the hardest things to do because your body is so hardwired to need it and crave it. There are plenty of ways to lose weight without giving up food completely. Why don't these people try no-carb diets or an all-veggie diet, but to just give up food completely seems so drastic to me.
Also people who deliberately try to get that skinny to that extent, I understand even less. Wanting to become 90-120lbs is one thing, but when you start reaching the 70 and 60lb range... I mean, nobody looks at that and thinks that looks good.

Ya I love eating. It's probably one of my favorite things as I have the metabolism of a hummingbird. I've tried to get fat honestly but it's damn near impossible.
On that girl ya no thanks. Honestly I love my girls with some meat on the bones. More comfy for snuggling.
Generally I eat one big meal a day if I'm drinking. If not I'm constantly eating. Went to Montana and sobered up. Weighed myself before and after. 125 now I'm a solid 150. All in muscle house remodeling is hard work. I don't look like I'm freaking anemic anymore and it's great. Want to get to about 160 I think at 5'10" that would be a solid weight for me.

I just watched the documentary "Thin". It's about anorexic women who are in an inpatient program to treat them.
One girl has been anorexic since she was 8. they put a permanent feeding tube in her abdomen, and she figured out she could squeeze food out of it after she ate by flexing her stomach.
It's interesting to read about how different people ended up with an eating disorder, and how they got over it.

I don't think girls that get that skinny realize what they're doing to their systems, and the medical issues it could lead to further down the road, that is if they live long enough to see what further down the road looks like.

I'm willing to bet she has absolutely no sex drive. Her vagina is probably extremely dry and she probably doesn't have the ability to orgasm anymore. People don't realize just how much nutrients and hydration matter when it comes to having properly functioning sex organs.

Are you just speculating, or does anorexia really affect sexual function like that? Can't they just get some lube and solve that issue? I would think that the depression and anxiety that often comes after anorexia sets in would affect sexual desire. Not to mention the extreme focusing on body image would make it impossible to feel sexy. They are afraid to expose themselves because they think they look fat!

Girls that have survived eating disorders will say they hated themselves that way, kind of funny how that works. People are strange, fascinating, but strange.
This is why it's good to set good examples to follow in regards to health.

Dunno about malnutrition effecting sex drive but it does effective the ability to reproduce. Most girls with eating disorders develope irregular infrequent periods and some eventually become infertile. So it could be a mental thing. But it could also be a physical thing. When the body is starving it starts to shut down, starting with the least essential...

Ya most girls that small will mis carry. There bodies are barely functioning on the bare minimum as is. They can't possibly nourish a growing child.
Im allergic to apples I still eat them though. My throat and gums get really itchy but it's not gonna kill me or anything.

Ya the other day I ate some grapes and broke out in hives and my throat was closing. Which is weird as I've eaten grapes no problem my whole life. Dunno if it was just a bad batch but I haven't tried them again.

That definitely sounds like an allergic reaction. I'd avoid them from now on if I were you. Or maybe buy an epipen before you try it again.
My bro has developed all his allergies late in life. Starting with poison ivy as a kid, steroids as a teen, and bees at 29. Weird how the body suddenly goes THIS IS BAD KILL IT and it kills you. When it's not even anything new.

Ya it was. Luckily had some benadryl on hand but I almost did call an ambulance if it got any worse. Unfortunate as I do greatly enjoy grapes.
Same with apples but I just deal with the itchiness. There just so damn tasty.
That is strange how that works out. I had asthma as a kid and grew out of that. I still have my allergies to dust and pollen though. I'm allergic to grass as well I break out in hives. No rolling around in grass for me.

This is why you don't want your kids to be sissies that sit indoors and play video games all days, they need to experience the funks of life, take them outside, throw them in poison ivy, let them eat dirt and tree bark, hell do that and they'll never have any problems building up a tolerance to a vast array of horrible ailments.

Yes, it absolutely does. When you are starving, your body starts getting rid of its most non-essential bodily functions. That's why your hair and nails get brittle and stop growing first. For women, your pussy starts drying up and loses the ability to get wet. For men, you lose the ability to sustain an erection if you're starving. It's not a mental thing, it's not about "feeling sexy" or whatever, what I'm talking about is purely a physical thing.
Think about it, at concentration camps like Auschwitz, you never heard about male and female prisoners getting caught having secret sex with each other. Housing men and women together in locked quarters, under normal conditions, would result in people getting horny. But when you're starving, your body tries everything that it can to preserve energy.
Sex is pretty much wasted energy at that point. If you're starving, you can't give birth and breastfeed anyway. So you lose the ability to do that first.

Meh. I rode horses as a kid for a long time and then suddenly developed pretty bad allergies to hay, horses, cats, eggs, milk, dust, pollen, and like 30 other things all at the same time.

No. Just asthma. But now that I think about it, I always had pretty strange allergies even as a toddler. I remember I developed an allergic reaction to pretty much all foods that I've ever eaten before when I was 2. So my parents had to go out of their way to buy turtle and horse meat and all these exotic meats that I've never eaten before, just so I could eat without breaking out in allergies.

Bulimia's fucking mental.
Why would you want to throw up to look good, so gross, also ruins your teeth.
You think they WANT to do that shit? I know you understand that's not how mental illness works.
Girls that have survived eating disorders will say they hated themselves that way, kind of funny how that works. People are strange, fascinating, but strange.
This is why it's good to set good examples to follow in regards to health.

Don't forget veggies, gotta have veggies man, all the different colors, try to cycle colors if you can this way you get the extra health benefits each color brings to the table.
I have been steaming chard and kale alot recently, they're really good for you, and have protein in them so helps fill you up.
DUnno what foods you're eating but the more soluble fibre in the food, the more it slows down absorbtion of sugars. I get heartburn without it. Pectin is the best at it, eat apples. Very satisfying.
I eat a shit load of apples.
Mmm, I love apples and pears. Especially stewed, with some belgian sausages and boiled potatoes, that was one of my favourite meals growing up. I don't know much about them, but there's some sausages that have just the right texture, I'm much more fond of German style like bockwurst.
Never suffered from anorexia, I'm just a boring old fatty, but when I see a fellow human being that's all skin and bones it pains me, that girl that was posted on the first page made me wince to see that. I don't care what the reason is for, I just want to feed them some stew until I'm sure something's sticking to their insides.

Yes. There is contradicting evidence about exposure to things and subsequent development of allergies/asthma/dermatitis. What's more of a real risk factor for developing allergies/asthma/eczema is a family history of those. Or if you already have one of those things, then you're more likely to get the others.

True.
I think this ties into what you're saying, and I am not trying to be rude around you ladies, but when I eat a lot of certain food I realize I am hornier, and my reproductive parts elongate and relax for a while, also if I have sex soon after eating a larger meal I will produce a larger amount of semen, usually when I eat a lot of meat, or high fat foods, perhaps this is related to testosterone release? I haven't read much about it, but know high fat foods are tied to higher test levels in men, but I only read that in a handful of places so am no sage on the subject.

Ya Asthma is where a lot of my allergies came from. I grew out of the asthma can't remember the last time I used an inhaler. Usually when I get sick but that's about it.

I don't even think I've ever tried a yam. I love potatoes you really can't go wrong. One of my favorite food items as it's so versatile. Can never go wrong with some starch. Filling and cheap.
I eat a lot of eggs as well.
Haha I recently got back to Washington and none of my old pants fit me anymore.

A lot of restaurants mistakenly serve them as "sweet potato fries." They're the really dark looking potatoes.

Seriously me too, it's an innate biological urge we have in us to want to desperately feed other people who look starving.
That's a really interesting stew though, I've never had one with fruits like apples and pears in it. Is there a name for that type of stew? Is the consistency thick like New England clam chowder, or is it more liquified like chicken noodle soup?
Anyways out of curiosity I just started reading some thinspo and pro-ana sites, these are some of the tips they dole out:
HOLY SHIT they even count calories from Tums! 5 whole calories!
Quote:
Ice or gum are good food substitutes. Celery works too if you're really hungry.
Make a list of "bad" foods. Periodically, cross one of the list and pledge to never, ever eat it again. Eventually there will be none left.
Eat in front of a mirror, naked or in underwear if possible. If you can't, carry a picture of yourself in a revealing outfit and look at it when you want to eat. When you have cravings pinch your fat and look at your problem areas, don't add to them!
When you go out, take very little money or only enough to buy whatever non-food item you plan on buying. This will make it harder to buy food on impulse.
Don't take bites, either from others' food or while cooking, as the calories add up surprisingly fast and you may not realize how much extra you're taking in.
Press on your stomach when it grumbles. TUMS also stop stomach growling and have calcium.(5 calories a piece so be careful!)
Save $1 for every meal you don't eat, then use the money to buy yourself a non-food present.
For sweet cravings, lick a chopstick and dip it into a diet Swiss Miss pack.
Friends will only get in the way. Avoid them until you reach your goals.
When you have hunger pangs, picture your stomach eating away your fat, and that what you feel is the feeling of thinness and your fat burning away.
Damn some of those are really depressing. Lick a chopstick and dip it into a diet Swiss Miss pack? Ice or gum are good food substitutes? Friends will only get in the way, avoid them?

Well there always seems to be a counter extreme to the more prominent extremes of society. In this case calorie counting and not eating enough is the pendulum of obesity and reckless eating.

Potatoes boost test too, but I eat the fuck out of sweet potatoes, slice them and steam them, they're slow digesting carbs and good for you, keep you full. I like them with just a touch of salt, nothing more, or just plain, or if I am feeling frisky maybe some brown sugar.
I have steaming sweet potatoes, carrots, snow and sugar snap peas, kale, and chard recently, it's so freaking good.

also i gotta mention something about that psychosomatic thing with sugar that Fennario mention. It is real.
Its called Glycemic Index. Bacially, its a way to measure how slow or fast energy from food is absorbed the body.
A high glycemic food has a fast usage i believe. An example is a candy bar, the energy is used quickly.
A low glycemic food are your healthy foods such as fruits or whole grains. The body needs extra time to break down these foods and thus u have a "slow burn" effect of available energy.
Marathon runners and bikers use these facts about food to use low glycemic foods at the beginning of the race then a high glycemic (fast sugar) near the end for a turbo boast of energy to finish the race.
This infomation was presented to me in college class on nutrition.

the acctual sugar is not different its just that the sugar in junnk food is being absorbed faster.
For example an orange will digest slowly but orange juice will be absorbed quickly and provide a spike of energy with a crash.

Ya it wasn't fun. I was sick all the time and expected to have my body perform at a high intensity for 6 minutes. Don't really recommend it.
I was at 117 cutting 6 lbs a week. I was in really good shape we got our body fat measured and I was only like 5% so I'd just have to run off water weight. Wear 6 layers just pouring sweat running.
I hate running haha.
