Pre-pouring agar in tiny tupper-wares saves a lot of time and effort. It eliminates the possibility of clumsily introducing contam vectors during the process of pouring plates, too. I do a mixture of pre-pours and actual petri dishes.
The petri's make me feel cool, like this guy

My last transfer before inoculating is always in a pre-pour, because I feel it's more reliable.
Using disposable sterile tools for transfers eliminates extra steps and variables. I found a product called "SPLINTER OUT" which is a pack of tiny little sharp pieces of sterile metal for transfers. Might seem trivial to you but I love them. Eliminate the torch.
You guys are probably going to shit on me, but when I inoculate with LC, I just shake my LC jar and poor a tiny plop directly into my grain jars in an SAB. When I'm done with that (get ready to cringe), I crack the lids, set all my jars upside down in the oven so the excess moisture drains out. They sit in there overnight. I'm not recommending it, but it works for me :/
Skip the grain jar dunk and grain slurry LC IMHO

Fuck I cut corners allover the place. The only thinges I don't half ass are clean inoculant, PC cycles, moisture content and pasturisation temperatures. IF you get that right the other stuff doesn't really matter.

Kneegrow.
Fucking love it.
i used to tell my mom "mom, I'm brown. Papers at school ask if I'm white, black, Hispanic, I'm none of those. I'm brown"
Both folks are from Florida,so I'm naturally tan.
Not sure what this has to do with kneegrows but whatever.
Also, shortcuts are no good. Shortcuts just get me trich mushrooms. Use agar and forget the shortcuts.

Shortcuts as an experiment against your control is cool.
I don't give two fcks who's here to just grow some drugs and who's here to really learn. WHY? because it only effects the person who's here to learn how to grow some quick drugs.. they'll produce shit because no work was put in. I don't see how that effects me.
People who are just here to grow drugs and aren't interested in cultivation will often come in talking about stupid shit like selling, not contributing anything to the site, and generally just trolling and dicking around. They might drop in here and there to give bad advice, to tell noobs to wipe their needles with iso, be sure to colonize in the dark, or to use an incubator set to 86F.
I'm not into that. Most people who are here to help are not into that. I'm also not into the new folks who come in talking shit about this place being "rigid" or closed minded. Anyone who has had any kind of decent success doesn't say those things because they've come full circle and see how the site works. I honestly haven't seen a single person condone any of the ideas that are commonly rejected here, and then turn around and have consistent success. Those things don't go together. There are just as many ways to do things wrong as there are to do things right. Not everyone has to try everything to realize this. We just know you don't sterilize manure if you're using it as a bulk sub. We just know that spores to LC is a shitshow. We just fucking know you don't G2G in open air. One or two successes doing those things does not suddenly give swarms of noobs the right to come here talking like they just invented the wheel.
People who don't like how "rigid" we are here are the people who want to do things their own way, damn the consequences. Those people do not make good teachers because they are still in the stage of stubbornly making mistakes because they feel they know more about a subject that other people have been doing far longer than them.
Again, not into that. At all. Not my cup of tea. Not my bag. No officer, that's not mine, I've never seen it before.
Some of us have attitude problems, but that is so far removed from what matters, that it's a non-issue in the grand scheme. If anyone here is truly honestly interested in taking advice or fielding ideas from people who can't even accept being wrong, then I think mycotopia could use some more traffic probably.
That hall of shame you have, is it for people who upset you? Wow over 23 thousand posts!

Yea. I read It in 7th grade. Sucked if I had to shower alone after wrestling practice while I was reading that book.

No.
I wouldn't get very far in life if I gave people that power over me. It's people who can't take the heat, so they've permanently removed themselves from the kitchen.
I've talked a lot of mushrooms in the last 5 years.

Finesse is key to kneegrowing. UTSF'n as much as you can while taking notes as much as you can. When I take notes of teks I remember them almost good enough to not have to refer to my notes. Therefore avoiding time and money consuming mistakes.
Not having this wonderful mushroom talk in life would be not good for honing and improving the ways people grow mushrooms because knowledge is power. Therefore UTSF'n FTW
