share the shortcuts you use that actually work for you in the long run
here are mine:
- not using a liner
- fruiting at spawn
- bucket tek
- not soaking grain
- not excessively drying grain. i under hydrate it slightly so i can give it a quick strain and then PC it.
- no dunking. i just pour water over the substrate. some rolls off the side and gets soaked up from the bottom too
- no twisting and pulling fruits when harvesting. i just cut at the base without plucking
soon i will get rid of:
- casing
- misting and fanning

Float small plastic boxes inside a large plastic bin, and use aquarium heater to maintain temps and humidity.

I tend to skip lining my trays with plastic. Reason...I can clean my trays with a power washer with soap dispenser a lot faster than I can cut and trim plastic sheeting for all of them. In my experiences thus far, I usually get burned when I take shortcuts. Learning proper techniques (thanks shroomery) and sticking to them have saved me more time and resources than any shortcut ever could. My booty drawer has never been fuller either. Kind of an oxy moron...successful shortcuts. That is all.

If I had a power washer I'd totally do that but right now it's faster to drop the liner in, mix up the sub, then take a blade around it right below the holes. Problem with that is if you nick the box up, it can start hanging onto bits of stuff and become a contamination vector. Scissors are a pretty safe alternative, assuming you know how to hold them locked and slide forward for that perfect cut.
Even more recently than that though, I've just been using the liner as is and saying fuck it. It doesn't block the bottom poly badly enough to fuck shit up, really, depending on your tub or bag size. I try to match em up as best I can, obviously.
I also like being able to lift them using the liner. If I get a contaminated tub for any reason. (and every tub will contaminate eventually) the last thing I wanna do is fuckin touch it. Contaminated substates get squishy and nasty and often fall apart in the process of dealing with them, spreading shit everywhere.

Didn't wash coir, verm or worm dukie, no holes in tub, no liner, no added water, no misting, no casing.
Have pins forming as of today. It's under a t5 though.
This was done in a mini mono with some spent jars that took too long to recover.

Nope! Did absolutely nothing. I wasn't expecting anything to come of it to be honest.
Normally yes, everything would be cleaned.

don't cut corners, if your mindset is wanting to cut corners. do everyone a favor buy a kit and don't post here. you're not a mushroom grower your a druggie who wants some cheap drugs. we're druggies that give a fuck about cultivation, we grow felonies, there's no room for people who don't give a fuck here. research new methods, successful ones, that have repeated success and have been proven by that success. and then don't deviate from that. act cool when you finally know what the fuck you're doing give advice from experience not conjecture
