Basically it's a documentary type show that follows this around the world to try different substances. It goes into his experiences, the chemical make up, how it effects the body, and history of whatever that episode is about.
There's also going to be a whole episode where the hunt down this particular shroom (it wasn't stated in the trailer which species)
This is from vice: https://www.viceland.com/en_us/show/hamilton39s-pharmacopeia

I haven't seen the new episodes, but the older ones were alright. He's socially awkward, which makes it funny.

Dudes its a great show and ive practically seen them all. I highly recommend it if you are interested in drugs and how they affect the mind and society.
His awkwardness makes that show, well that and the esoteric information!!!

That dude is a fucking piece of shit. He could have made a great episode about pickard and (i forget his name) the other guy's acid silo, instead he just pandered to crystal cole aka the reason so many people can't get good acid these days.

Hamilton is a complete asshat. That Neurosoup episode was especially fucking insufferable. Every episode I've seen with him has been nothing but a cringefest, but goddamn that Neurosoup one was out of control pretentious and retarded. Fuck that guy.

The first and only time I ever did a "lude" was a "Mandrax" back in 1979, and I was 14. I also smoked some of a "lemmon lude" 5 years later with some guy claiming it was awesome. I had never heard of smoking pills before at the time. So smoking pills has been going on for a long time. I don't remember getting high on it either. Seems wasteful. Never saw ludes after those 2 times, never sought them out.

Seems very strange that they bother to make it into pills. I wonder how the benadryl makes the high different. Like those pills are fucking huge. So much garbage must go into their lungs.

I've seen every episode so far. I feel like he legitimizes drug nerds though he is unlikable to some, that makes it better when he undergoes difficulty like in the toad episode when he gets bit, burned and made fun of by the locals. Good show!!

Dude is a huge tool. Lol The show is great and rather interesting all the things it examines and locals he gets into but vicelands info style is kinda dry idk some episodes are better than others but some episode do alot of bullshitting. Vice just always Draws conclusions that seem to be bogus. Prime example being the scopolamine-zombie episode they claimed 3they were using it for mind control. Some of the actors seem to be paid, its too obvious.

cool article he wrote about mycologist Stephen Pollock on his murder possibly by the police and his discovery and work with Psilocybe Tampanensis including a cool story where he reintroduces it into the wild of the southern US by inoculating hundreds of hay bales and leaving them out in cow pastures in florida during one of the states the strongest hurricanes to be ripped apart and carried into the stratosphere.
