Hey guys need some help and info here. I started fruiting my tubs 2 weeks ago and 1 still hasnt pinned and the other is decent with some fats fruits harvested ( had one PE weigh 4.8 gs dry ). Anyway it seems that the casing layer i added is being colonized, im not sure if thats normal but im nervous it might cause overlay and it might have affected the grow when i added the late casing, i also think it might be trich. Both sub and casing were pasteurized and no signs of contams were seen on spawn bags. Preparation was done is a closed clean environment with gloves and sterile syringes. Not sure why one of my tubs hasnt started pinning yet ( my guess is the casing layer) i did everything the same time and same way with both tubs and one pinned and fruited before the other :/ also i have a problem with pooling water at the bottom of my tubs seperated by a trash bag liner, any info on if these tubs are contaminated or why my tubs taking forever to pin would be great thanks PICS BELOW

Did you spawn both tubs with PE?
PE can take longer to pin from what I read. No experience myself, but I think you should feel lucky to be seeing pins at two weeks with PE.

You might end up with some blobs. Looks like you may have some forming in the 4th pic.
Looking good so far!

the substrate looks to be on the dry side (might want to start misting a couple times a day). A casing layer isn't necessary with monotubs, and really only serves to make the mycellium work harder before it can start pinning, which is why your having such a delay...and yes it's normal for the casing layer to become colonized before pinning starts (yours doesn't have overlay)

Thanks for the info i will start misting today, and i wasnt planning on casing but i had posted before on questions of delayed pinning and someone mentioned that casing would provide a nice microclimate for pin formation, but i guess it just made it take longer lol i really hope your right and that second tub ends up pinning. It doesnt look like trich either? i know trich looks similar to mycelium, but no signs of anything green so i think im ok.

My first and only batch of PE took about two weeks before seeing pins. Hang in there, they will come. Make sure your FAE and humidity levels are optimal. I am still learning how to eyeball such things. After misting, the moisture should take about 4 - 6 hours to evaporate off the surface of the substrate? Just a guess. Going to play with this in a couple weeks when I put some trays in the FC. Any thoughts on this, veteran growers?
