I just picked these 2 days ago. I cut the tips to remove the part of the stem that was on the cake. I put them in the freezer and I just looked today, they look like this now! Are they ruined??

The freezer? All the cells ruptured when they froze and the tissue is now putrefying into a black mess.

I improvise with a box fan, but a dehydrator is best, depending on humidity. Edit: Why not just eat them all?

After you dry your harvest in the oven ten of fifteen times with the door open, fan pointing inside, house heating up for hours and hours... you'll buy one.
That's the one big thing I don't own really. I need one bad. I check thrift stores every week. Can't afford to pay 50 dollars for one.

Those are fine. If you already froze them, don't defrost until U'll want to consume. Next time - dehydrate.

Just use a box fan. I've used the nylon mesh paint filter bags ($1 at Home Depot) to hold the goods while they dry. If you need to finish them to cracker dry- put the bag into the fridge after you use the fan to remove most of the moisture.

I left some in a closed container for a few hours and noticed them gettin green so I put a fan on them to dry, you think they'll be fine if they have a little green in them. Or just throw them out, can you still trip on shrooms like that

Are you sure the green isn't just bruising? Post a pic if you have time it will help us see the situation at hand.

Fan drying works. You want the air circulating around the room. Once you get them as dry as possible with the fan grab some dessicent and put them in an airtight jar. Check them the next day to see if they got spongey because sometimes even though they feel cracker dry they can have the slightest bit of moisture still in them and mold will spread fast!
Get a damned dehydrator mang!

6 hours and done drying? That's sketchy shit son. Often times heat makes them crumble and shit before they're actually cracker dry. I do 24 hours every time just in case.

I never had any problems with them. And they always stay dry after, but i generally just leave them in the box for a few more days cause its not usually a hurry, I only trip when I'm off work for a couple days (if I'm in a hurry, I just eat them fresh and the hell with drying). I only leave the heater on for about 6 hrs tho and they feel dry. Cardboard seems to dry stuff out anyway, so that might have something to do with them staying dry instead of rehydrating. If they're going to be bagged or jarred immediately, then a straight 24 hrs couldn't hurt. And yes they're all crackly and breaking apart when I handle them, that's why I say cracker dry.
When I started doing it that way, it was because I was broke as shit (still am), but it worked nicely so I didn't see any reason to put any more money into it.
I know every one has their own preferences, I just thought I'd share my low cost idea. Eventually, I plan on building a rack to put inside the box, but the small grows I do, a paper plate or two with paper towels holds everything fine.
