Chewing salvia leaves

I want to try salvia, but I think smoking it for my first time will be too overwhelming. Has anyone had success trying the sublingual/oral method? Is the trip enjoyable? I take mirtazapine, but I think I can take salvia without a problem because it doesn't interfere with serotonin. Is this correct?

chewing the leaves works, the trip is more about learning than enjoyability in my opinion but ive had moments of intense euphoria and peace on salvia before.

Thanks what dosage do you suggest? I suffer from chronic/treatment resistant depression. Mushrooms helped to lift my depression in the past, but eventually the depression Always came back. I've read that salvia could also alleviate depression. Is it safe to try alone?

I suggest about 2 grams. Salvia is great for depression but don't expect instant results. If you work with salvia over time through many trips, you can expect great help for depression in my opinion. Salvia takes you within and shows you your real self and guess what, your real self is not depressed.
In my opinion its safe to do alone but I am also the sort of guy who takes 6 grams of mushrooms alone.

Another thing I want to add for you, since you are wanting to use salvia to help you, I personally when working with entheogens find it very helpful to read books others have written on them.
You can find these books on salvia:
Confessions of a Salvia Sorcerer by Brother Harmonious - excellent book you can find for free online
SHamanic quest for the spirit of salvia by Ross Heaven - another excellent book but costing money
There is a little info on salvia on the sacred serpent website as well. Good luck to my friend.
