Lesser known ethnobotanicals
    #23769039 - 10/25/16 05:59 AM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Hey guys,

Wondering what kind of cool, lesser known ethnobotanicals you guys have in your collections?

I've just received one of three psychoactive orchids I ordered (anoectochilus formosanus), waiting on Dendrobium Nobile and Dendrobium Teretifolium.

I was reading an article about an orchid that actually contained oxycodone, which is considered a semisynthetic. The concentration was low and other bad compounds as well but just thought t was cool.

I didn't have a single seed germinate, and I have read they easily germinate....I want to blame the soil, but I am pretty sure it is the gardener.

I Planted what I would assume is hundreds of sinicuichi seeds.i have about 6 plants that actually popped up, and grow is very slow.

I'm interested to give it a shot later on, I have read that it is only usable freshly picked. I don't know how true that is though

I will nominate Acmella Oleracea, it's such a wonderful plant and loads of fun. They can take a lot of abuse, too. They make a ton of flowers and seeeeeeeeeds!

I have heard of the toothache plant before, when you say it's loads of fun, do you mean it has psychoactive effects?

The world of psychoactive orchids is relatively new to me too.. Some good information here

There's not a huge amount of information online regarding psychoactive orchids, so I'm planning on trying to track them down and do some of my own research

Those I've managed to get a hold of so far:

Anoectochilus Formosanus - supposedly contains GHB like substances (4-hydroxybutanoic acids)
Dendrobium Nobile - Cannabis like effects
Dendrobium Teretifolium - Used as an analgesic

Thought I'd add some my own lesser known specimens.. (yet to personally research these)

Glaucium Flavum - contains Glaucine, produces sedation, fatigue, and a hallucinogenic effect characterized by colorful visual images. Reading very good reports on this one.
Picralima Nitida - contains Akumammine, apparent opioid like effects
Incarvillea Delavayi - Analgesic effects

I planted loads of sinicuichi "seeds" from WSS, not one germination. Looked more like dried plant material than seeds.

Wss has some seeds that are some what questionable. This is all hear say and ive been told his trich seeds are shit too. This all hearsay like i said. But enough that.

We have native to south texas brush what is called turnera diffusa. And i believe a lot of businesses hear use it as landscaping plants.

You just gotta sprinkle them, and let them be on preferably some sandy moist soil, and don't let it dry out.

I tried it the first time, and the leaves had been dried for a week.
I got nothing from this try.

Only when I used fresh leaves, and let it sit in the sun fermenting for two days is when the psychoactive properties, and an opiate like sedation and euphoria manifested itself:yesnod:

Solandra Grandiflora
Calea Z.
Phalaris "big medicine"
Illicium Verum (not active but its used as a spice and to make Tamiflu)

Would love to grow one of those psychoactive orchids, and Glaucium Flavum. I also have some picrilina nitrida seeds. Tried growing them, they just grew into a ball of mold. Ive also had bad luck growing seeds from WSS, could've just been me tho..
