8 days from LC and no mycelial growth in PF Tek jars?

Hey. I inoculated my first 4 PF Tek jars on 10/16. I used an LC from the Spore Depot (Pleurotus Pulmonarius). I used 1:1:2 ratio, BRF, Water, Verm. Mostly sterile, but they were done in open air. 8 days later and I still see no growth, which I think might be unusual especially for LC. Strangely enough, the LC jar I later innoc'd with the same syringe is experiencing good growth. Here's some photos

Thanks for your help!

It's going to be roll of the dice with vendor LC, It could still take off, but the LC inoculated in open air, that's worrisome, It will for sure take of quickly in growth but with possibly tons of other things. If you go to use that LC put it on agar first and see if it's clean before using again. Build a still air box(SAB) which is just a simple clear tote turned upside down with two holes for your arms to fit into, do your work in there. Use the search function for agar, and easy no pour agar prep and you will be on your way. But don't give up on those jars they don't look contaminated it could just be an old slow culture. Good luck

Yep, I've been prepping over the past few days, ordered some petri dishes and some MEA. Also made a SAB yesterday… I'm just wondering what I did wrong for my next try? Thanks!

I'd request spawn or an LC from a trusted trader and pay charges.

Its hard to tell for sure. But that clump of light gray stuff on thr glass looks like bacteria or some flour.
No weird smells?
If the LC was good I would give them a bit more time to see what happens.
Hopefullly they come around but I have a feeling those jars are bacterial.

The grey stuff I think is the culture tissue from where I injected it. It smells slightly weird, but not bad. I can only smell it if I put my nose up to the holes. It smells like I'd imagine wet flour and dirt to smell like.

That sounds promising! Give it some time and see what happens. I hope they come around for you and you get a massive flush!

Oyster should have a sweet mushroom smell. If others aren't growing it's likely a contaminate .Hope I'm wrong.Time will tell.

Your LC is infected guaranteed, 100% of your inoculation areas, the following:
Browning, very dark and obvious, looks like shaded areas. Red and orange discolourations, image 3 has mold.
Bacterial slime at the peak of a triangle.

Damn. I see the red discoloration, but what shaded areas are you talking about? The Verm has been that color since the beginning. And what triangle?
Thanks

Throw the LC away, or attempt a salvage process.
You will need:
> Gelatin, agar powder, or sugar free jelly. > Tea leaves and ground cinnamon.
Mix the 25g raw lea leaves and 5g ground cinnamon verum bark together. Add 1 liter of boiling hot water and fully cover, 10 minutes then strain.
Make the agar mixture as normal, once ready, inoculate. Read up on using agar teks and cooking guides.
This agar is very bacteria resistant.

Good catch!!
Jesus my eyes must be going bad at 32. I cant see the colors you're talking about.
Spending over a thousand hours a year in a helicopter must be taking it toll.
Nevermind.. I see it now. Had to brighten up my display on my tablet

I don't actually see those colors in real life so I'm sobering if it's a camera/lighting artifact?
