Anyways, Russia overstepped itself with the hacking and protecting Assange goes hand in hand with that.

Julian Assange should be drawn and quartered.

Putin is a truly deplorable person. He completely destroyed Russia's opportunity to become a real democracy. He kills and jails his political opponents. He has turned Russia into a nightmare for gay people. He wants nothing more than reconstitute the Soviet Union, annexing free and democratic countries. His allies are the worlds worst rogue nations and he is bombing the fuck out of Aleppo. Why anyone in this country would side with that kind of evil is beyond me.

No. There are just facts. Not koods facts. Facts. JFK never ran for the senate. I don't even know where you would get that idea.

They dropped out of those agreements a while ago and the UN has never been anything more then a kangaroo court. Theyre also increasing the size of their arsenals and just committed to a total rehaul of their weapons. Russias set to roll out their new nukes with advanced countermeasures by the end of this year. Something thats in direct violation of the aforementioned treaties.

Tell me more about how things are though.

I can't see why anyone likes Putin in the slightest, and while I'll criticize the US all day any day for any number of things, Russia is every bit as bad, and then a little bit on top.

Americas the aggresor here. They were never welcomed into Syria, Assad told them to fuck off. Syria was always Russia's ally too. Ukraine was Russias, all those baltic states were russias and when the soviet union fell the agreement was they would remain neutral. America didnt listen, America continued to encroach, and encircle them. This is the response. You're literally brainwashed if you think otherwise.

You seem like a really sloppy consumer of information. Do you ever check to see what you are posting is true?

I used to go to that Starbucks all the time. Three people were killed. It was a robbery. The killer was arrested after his friend's girlfriend gave him up.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/local/daily/march99/cooper18.htm
Quote:

Cooper, 29, told investigators that he spent about a month planning to rob the Starbucks at 1810 Wisconsin Ave. NW, just north of Georgetown. A prosecution witness, identified in the affidavit only as a "close friend" of Cooper's, told police that Cooper invited him to participate in the robbery.

The witness said that he agreed to take part but that Cooper never followed up and did not take him along, an account that police said Cooper verified during hours of questioning. Cooper acted alone and fired two guns during the slayings, police said, a .38-caliber snub-nosed revolver and a .380-caliber pistol.

As he plotted the robbery, Cooper said, he wanted to make sure there was plenty of cash the night he struck. So he chose a Sunday night, and not just any Sunday night, but the end of a busy Fourth of July weekend.

Just to be sure that business was brisk, Cooper told police, he visited the Starbucks that morning. By the time he parked his car in upscale Burleith and walked into the shop after closing time, the safe held more than $10,000.

Cooper announced that he was robbing the store, and he forced the three Starbucks workers into a rear office, where the safe was located. Mary Caitrin Mahoney, 25, known as Caity, was the manager on duty. The other employees were Emory Allen Evans and Aaron David Goodrich.

After Mahoney's refusal to yield the keys, the warning shot and the struggle over the keys, Cooper shot Mahoney first with one pistol, then with the other, five times in all. He remembered shooting Evans, 25, three times. The second two shots were intended "to put him out of his pain," the affidavit said. He shot Goodrich, 18, once.

A Starbucks supervisor found the bodies the next morning. McAllister said the details provided by Cooper match evidence from the crime scene. Police found a bullet in the ceiling and 10 shell casings, and the shooting pattern that Cooper described is consistent with the autopsy results, McAllister reported.

Cooper, the son of a church deacon, lived with his wife and 4-year-old son in the 1200 block of Gallatin Street NE. He was arrested March 1 by Prince George's police, who charged him with attempted murder in the 1996 shooting in a Hyattsville park of Officer Bruce Howard, then off-duty.

District police got a break in the case after "America's Most Wanted" repeated an episode about the unsolved Starbucks case. A woman called with a tip, saying she was dating a man who knew Cooper. The man had told her that Cooper admitted being the Starbucks killer.

Gimme a fucking break. ISIS has taken over the northern part of Syria and is headquartered there. Assad cannot claim we are violating his sovereignty because he doesn't even have control over that territory. He has a terrorist operation that is threatening the entire region being run from inside his so called country. He doesn't get to complain.

The former countries of the Soviet Union are free to ally with whom they choose. They are independent countries.

america has been doing a lot of shady and questionable shit, for ages, and Syria is a continuation of that. I do think pushing Russia too far too fast is dangerous, as a mixture of desperation and poisonous ideology is the only force that could push a nation to nuclear war in this era. I don't think that's what we'll see, both sides are too smart to let it get to that.
I just think both entities, the US and the Russians, are forces of moderate evil on a global scale, who can't help but bicker. The back and forth doesn't end, and I don't think it will end any time soon. I genuinely don't think a Trump presidency would make much difference. If he somehow miraculously got in, he would answer to the same masters Clinton does, and Russia would still be annoyed.

It wont be, it'll be a slow escalation, like the one that's been ongoing for a while. First it was just a proxy war in Syria, then America invaded. To the shock of everyone Russia invaded alongside them. At first they communicated with each other, slowly they diverged. Stopped communicating, now they are openly attacking their lead alliances, Russia recently said it'll destroy every US craft in the region if they touch Assad's forces again, and the vice president just declared he'll be attacking Russia's government cybernetically in the coming days or months.

Now do you see the pattern emerging here?

Someones on an end of days kick huh? Listen man with the UN set it up the way it is, with the laws it has, the likelihood of nuclear war is extremely unlikely. The US and Russia are slowly but surely getting rid of more and more nuclear weapons from their arsenal per an agreement(cant remember the acronym).
Unless i see a nuclear cloud outside of my window I'm just not really worried about it, and by that time it'll be too late anyways so its a win/win

That's simply untrue for many reasons. The UN isn't set up in a way that it could properly de-escalate a war on that scale. All it takes is for one side to ignore existing treaties, and ignore UN mandates. This is already the case.

With that said, I'm of the same opinion as Ezuma, this wont lead to nuclear warfare - nor total warfare. It will however increase proxy warfare, and Russia is both improving it's military infrastructure and training for modern warfare and ensuring that it will not accept a role in international interests where it doesn't have some say. It's blatantly questioning the United State's hegemony of the past couple decades in a big way, calling us on our shit so to speak.

I don't think this is the start of total warfare, but it does introduce a new Cold War element to international relations. Russia doesn't need to be as powerful as it was during the peak of the Cold War to exert it's influence. It only needs to be a threat, and it will have a say. Putin is realizing that not every action Russia takes will result in a large scale war with the United States because it's strategically retarded for either force to take part.

The United States isn't likely to commit a Vietnam War scale effort to any conflict in the Middle East or Asia either, regardless of the tone. Not that Russia has the means of funding a war on that scale these days anyway, but they don't need that kind of push to secure theoretical red lines either. This understanding is going to allow Russia to arm itself (on an equipment level, and with small nuclear warheads that are more easily deployable as well) and continue it's modernization efforts militarily without the need to submit to anything that would stop this. If we continue to sanction Russia far into the future, you will see a more self-reliant Russia that doesn't need the full power of the international market as much as we would to continue military operations extensively.

I don't think total warfare will be an issue. It would be suicide for Putin, and disastrous for the US and it's allies. This is a game of chicken. A dangerous one that will end in many lives lost. We can play the moral high ground, but satellite wars that start on moral principle usually spiral into something worse by the end of it.

honestly having more balance of power globally would be a good thing, as superpowers tend to keep each other in check. The US has been getting away with a lot for decades, and while Russia is just as bad, their set of interests leading the US to potentially second-guess their fuckery wouldn't be so bad I think

Yeah, I doubt it to. At this point its pretty much inevitable. Theyll either convince themselves they can get involved in limited warfare or it will fizzle out. Hopefully its the latter.

As for the Ukraine. When Victor Yushchenko ran against a pro-Russian candidate for president of the Ukraine, this is what Putin did to him

He was so severely poisoned he almost died and  his face was scarred for life.

When the most recent pro Russian president was overthrown after it was revealed he was robbing the country blind and he exiled himself to Russia, Putin decided to invade.
