I found these today and I'm fairly confident they are psilocybes just don't want to poison anyone

They're definitely not psilocybes, but I think they may be Gymnopilus
Have you take a spore print?

Psilocybes have a pellicle and a hygrophanous cap and will readily and apparently bruise blue in places of damage. Those really don't look anything like psilocybes to be honest.

Nah, spore print should do the job. They are likely inactive Gymnopilus and will probably have an orange-brown spore print

No prob man. The reason that is a tough identifier to use is that most all agaric mushrooms are generally shaped like that. Blue bruising in places of damage will be the most unmistakeable characteristic you can look for.

Yeah I'm not seeing that, I did check out this thread about debating the pellicle issue in cyanescens which is what I was hoping they are. What do you mean active, mycologist?

Active means it has the active chemicals that would make you trip. These definitely aren't cyanescens.

I ate about 4 handfuls. I can't tell if pluteus or gymnopilus or WTF so I just ate as much as I could stand to, they don't taste bad and no gastric distress after one hour, no other effects yet

Please don't do that again... You have at best a tentative ID, and a recommendation to spore print your finds. You already know for certain (thanks to doctorghosty) that these are not hallucinogenic mushrooms. Eating "4 handfuls" is not the way to narrow things down. If you want to enjoy this new hobby, you need to be a lot more responsible. Never eat any mushroom you cannot identify. It could mean your life.

For the record, I agree with DoctorGhostys guess. What you ate should bring you neither a trip to the moon or the toilet. Its the behavior that worries me. Be safe, be certain.

That's exactly how you die buddy. I hope for you that this is the last time it happens, remember that all mushrooms are edible but some only once.
More than that, and I don't want to offend you in any way... But just acknowledge the fact that those acts of stupidness are also exatcly what's causing to people think the wrong way on psychedelics.

Why would you do that? I dont understand how you went from being thankful of someones help and expert advice to disregarding it and playing russian roulette with your life in just a couple of hours.
For future reference as you seem pretty new here, the little 'TRUSTED IDENTIFIER' badge under peoples avatars should leave you safe in the knowledge that they know what they are identifying.

side note, 4 handfuls of cyans would be quite the kick bang boom to an inexperienced consumer.
Just jumping on the two hour dead bandwagon. Not that I believe you actually ate them.

If he did eat them after all of our posts saying he shouldn't be "stoked", we should just let natural selection run its course.
