T Peruvianus cross Id
    #23767643 - 10/24/16 05:43 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

Can anyone help me Id these cacti? I believe these are possibly crossed with an inactive or poorly active cuzcoensis. These two cacti cuttings had been given to me by a well known vendor who has been in the business a long time. His recent practices made me somewhat suspicious of his ability to properly Id cacti. These same cacti are sold as T. Peruviana or the P Torch as cuttings and dried incense through the vendors website. I would like some feedback from more experienced individuals about the specifics of such crosses?

Im sad no one commented on this. Not even me. Regardless of what it is, it is a very lovely trich. I say it leans on the side of peruvianus. Taste it. Is it bitter?

Does not look very much like a cuzcoencsis to me.  Appears to be a pretty typical looking peruvanus. There is a lot of variation in potency in trich species and many peruvianus are not that potent. But your plants look nice and appear to be healthy.

Thanks for the feedback. Makes me fee a little better while also knowing in the back of my head the TP does vary in potency. Just not used to how low on the scale it was.

Your best bet is a bioessayed clone. Although i wonder how much environment plays in mescaline content.

I know of a plant that was labeled as peruvianus but that looks much more like a cuzcoensis. Turns out it was about as potent as PC San Pedro. As far as I know there is still some debate as to whether cuzcoensis is its own species or just a subspecies of peruvianus.
