Dunking Question.

So I have a cake that is at 100%. It has been at 100% for about 2 days so I pulled it out and dunked it.
After reading a couple posts about leaving them for another week, I'm worried I may have pulled it out too soon to dunk.
Can a cake continue to colonize while it is being dunked?

just… you already pulled it out. Just roll in verm after the dunk and fruit it. Expect to have to baby it for a couple of weeks before you see pins.

^Exactly what he said, once you have them out of the jars its too late to stuff them back in so you might as well dunk n roll then fruit. If its covered in myc it should be strong enough to fight off contams without that week for consolidation. You just have to keep a close eye on it and baby it(echoing dankington again haha)

Thanks for the replies, guys. As long as they are salvageable, I'm happy. I was just hoping I didn't ruin the whole cake by prematurely pulling them out.
Thanks again!
Edit: I didn't pull it out of the jar. I poured water in the jar for the dunk process. I've read this somewhere and did this process for it to re hydrate.

As long as you poured the dry verm barrier off and rinsed off the cake and jar then thats cool, good luck! Im waiting for my babies to fruit right now as well

Thanks for the responses. Though I still am wondering, if anybody may know. Will the mycelium still grow while it is being dunked?

Well dunking is just to rehydrate the cake itself to promote proper growth, i dont see dunking the cakes for over 24 hours as being good for the cakes or necessary, the myc wont really grow much while being dunked, just a bit i would think.
