Nunchucks?

How many of you guys mess around with nunchucks?
I just got both sets of my chucks back and was playing with them on LSD yesterday. My form was literally a million times better, I felt like Bruce Lee.
Do you guys fuck with chucks? What are your favorite moves/inspirational martial artists? Got any videos of you spinning? Post em up.

I used to, only train unarmed when I happen to train at all these days.
My technique is much better on LSD, definitely don't fuck with someone with training when they're tripping

I really enjoy working on combinations of kicks while tripping, things get really crazy when the momentum builds up and your feet barely touch the ground, probably dangerous for the spine if one fucks up.
Wouldn't actually use any kick other than a front kick in a fight though, roundhouses and the like aren't worth the risk ime

Are you professionally trained or self taught?

I was thinking about this the other day camping and hiking on lsd, there was a portion of our hike where we had to scale a 20 foot rock wall. My hands and feet found the holes and ledges faster than the others. I've noticed psychedelics help with physical shit, almost like its makes the connections for the motion in your brain more fluid and open or some shit. I've read about guys doing BJJ tripping, only done it high but i could just see some animal instinct coming out, some primal shit

Self taught, total amateur, I mostly just flip balisong nowadays, and lift weights, I dabbled with a trainer but can't find the time, lol, without proper training the martial arts just wasn't as much fun

I'm more interested in a punching bag than a trainer, can fight well enough for a realistic scenario, just want to work on speed and power. Can't really hang a bag out here though, and standing bags are generally shit

All I can think of is Buckethead. Guy put down his guitar mid song and started doing all kinds of crazy shit with nunchucks. I had to question my grasp on reality at that point.

I saw a Buckethead show in the back of a tiny bar in Virginia once. Probably 50-75 people there tops. I brought him a vintage ninja turtle action figure, and he gave me some tamagotchi in exchange. Got to see him do the nunchucks thing live. Buckethead's been my guitar idol for a long time and it was a really super cool moment for me.
I can play a bunch of his music, not some of the faster shreddier bits since I swore off caffeine but some of them.

I train martial arts about 3 hours a day, but I don't train with weapons.
It's all striking, takedowns, footwork, head movement and take down defence.
I don't walk around with nunchucks so what's the point in training with them?
If I ever have to defend myself I won't have nunchucks with me.
So many inspirational martial artists in UFC.
Dan Henderson, Johny Hendricks and Anthony Johnson are three of my current favorites.

Yeah 3 hours a day sounds like fun, but I don't have that much time for training, its not a high enough priority

Yeah my priority is lifting, and after working a 12-16 hour shift, squeezing in an hour of that is a challenge as well,
I envy those who have that much free time

Yeah I am insanely lucky to have a job and life that allows me to train for hours a day. Allows me to progress rapidly. I have decided to make martial arts my top focus for the next ten years.

I think the chucks would make you more tight and flex certain muscles that are finer. Might improve reaction time. So one wouldn't have to have them on themselves to benefit from the training.

Yes you would benefit for sure, just not as much as if you spent the same amount of time working on unarmed skills. But any martial arts, with weapons or without, are amazing. Best hobby you can have IMO.
Going to 2.5 hours of classes back to back at the local MMA gym. Boxing and no Gi jujitsu tonight. Fucking Stoked!
Already been working out though so I need to rest now so I dont burn out. Large amounts of cannabutter should help

No we are talking about chucking nuns for fucking fun, not whacking yourself in the balls with two floppy sticks on a rope.

I technically have the time, but I'd rather spend it elsewhere
Still, training isn't far down the list of things I enjoy, just need longer days

They're called Nunchaku and the sport is known as Nunchaku-do. Its been a long time since I swirled them, I threw mine away. I made an all steep pipe nunchaku of he purpose of cracking coconuts. I actually demolished my old toilet with it so the pieces fit in my garbage bin.
For practice I used one made out of two rigid pieces of garden hose. Still quite painful but not bone-smashing.
1ft handles, a hand's width of cord or chain in between, hardly rocket science, but it has to be very sturdy.

LOL, I made some out of an old broomstick, one of those old school backyard swingset chains, and some roofing nails when I was a wee lad.
