Habitat:
North American deciduous forest, on the side of a large oak stump.

Gills:
None.

Stem:
3.5 inches long, ~2 inches in diameter, deep red/purple in color, glossy & smooth texture, solid, thick.

Note: a second stem was attached with a missing cap. That stem is bruised with a slight blue tint.

Cap:
4 inches across, varying shades of purple in color with one ring of deep brown, glossy & smooth texture, strong/firm, slightly convex.

Spore print color:
attempting spore print now

Bruising:
Blue and brown.

Ganoderma lucidum seems reasonable for your area and on oak.

Just found a more traditional colored reishi (or what I believe to be reishi)

Yes, Reishi.  That blue mold means this is way past considering for teas and such.  You don't really want to eat that mold or any bacteria that may also be present at this stage.

If it is still rock hard or fleshy but firm, then yes.  If it is like dry super spongey dried out and smells fishy (bacteria) then no.  Try to cut it in two, it should be a difficult task.
