Most people who eat them survive. It takes more than people think to kill someone.

This is true. While none of us by any means are saying to go eat galerinas, eating one won't do anything really

Survival rate when eating deadly poisonous mushrooms is 100%, if you react before symptoms show. They pump your stomach out, and toxin does not get absorbed into your bloodstream.
But every single day you are getting worse if you are not aware you're poisoned. Your chances are going down. When symptoms show, usually it's too late. Toxin has damaged your organs severely till now. But still, hundreds of people somehow survive. I knew statistics for late reacting patients, but I forgot. It's rather high in highly developed countries, over 60% I believe. They get liver transplants, blood transfusion and high doses of all kinds of medicine.
And like moria said, eating one Gal is not going to kill anyone. Obviously none will advise to do it for whatever reason. And For ID purposes, when taste is important criteria, nibbling is just fine, just spit the fuck out.

We're kinda resilient creatures when it comes down to it.

For one, it depends on the species consumed, how much was eaten, preexisting conditions and time lapsed from ingestion to medical intervention.

Very beautiful IMO but not exactly deadly, they're actually delicious! But they've got a reputation to uphold, and I think you could possibly kill yourself if you ate enough of them so I'll put em' up since I haven't done much here in a long time...

bloodycarcass, I'm pretty sure that's Amanita jacksonii on the left. Looks like lined margins to me.

Only seen one of those once a long time ago, but maybe they don't like it so much up north!
