Canada east coast.
Habitat: Growing in a football field, grass needed to be mowed, but was not very long.
Gills: Dark brown.
Stem: Almost an off white, like a tint of sandish brown. Darken where damaged, but no bluing visible.
Cap: Around 1cm for the bigger ones.
Spore print color: Taking one at the moment. Edit: Seems to be chocolate brown/purple.

Yeah, sorry the pictures are kind of crap. Phone is broken, so had to take the picture with my super fisheye 360 degree camera which is not meant for fine detail on small objects. Best I can do for right now, though.

Looks to be chocolate brown/purple spore print. I'll get some better pictures today after work of some fresh ones with the digital camera I found.

sounds like libs to me, looks like libs to me. I'm not by any means an expert so unless i have seen these mushrooms in person i can't confirm them to anyone.
however based on the pictures alone i am convinced these are liberty caps.

Psilocybe semilanceata. The stipes don't usually split and break quite like that but they may be a bit weathered.
--------------------
Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Found a lone survivor in the field today. Took some clear pictures with the better camera I found, and this one has some blue/green bruising visible.
