Different uses for different nutrient levels (agar)?

I've been reading on how nutrient levels in agar and other media affect growth (low nutrient=faster growth; high nutrient=slower growth). I have a few questions that I couldn't find a good, spot-on answer to from searching. I have yet to try out agar myself, so I can't draw from own experience yet, but here are some things I've been wondering in the meantime:
- If growth happens more slowly on highly nutritious agar, does that mean that the number of cell divisions also remains low when compared to a low-nutrient agar growing for the same number of days?
- Does the high-nutrient agar grow thicker, healthier mycelium since it provides more nutrition?
- If the above is true, is it preferred to grow master plates on rich agar to prevent further cell division/maintain healthy mycelium?
- Do you pour thicker agar for master plates to prevent dehydration?

I doubt cell division is much different. Elongated hyphae.
Thicker plates last a little longer

Higher nutes work better as inoculation wedges. The myc is able to leap off stronger.

Sorry to revive a thread, but i hope your right pastey! if so it answers my question. I had messed up my agar recipe. I wanted to pour twice the amount of plates as I normally do, so I doubled my water and didnt double my agar and malt lol so all my samples were SLOW and weak/tomentose looking. So I transferred to normal plates and they have been slow to take off to the new agar. But we will see with time. Didnt even think about it being to weak to leap off the agar to grains.
