Will psilocybe semilanceata (liberty caps) grow here ?

I found this large field near my house which id assume would be great for libs, so i decided to scout it out. I knew in advance that i wouldnt find libs because the weather has been pretty dry the past few days, although my friend did find some last week in his back garden (Lucky!! ). The field has some steep slopes that are easterly facing and the whole field is broken up by some large rocks. I had seen some cattle in the field previously, but the field was empty today. When i entered the field there were cow pats scattered around, but i also found an abundance of these small mushrooms in the field. I'm quite new to shroom hunting and didnt have a clue what they were, but they were completely baked from the sun and looked a few days old - fully matured. They had dark gills and a browny-coloured cap (i assumed thats what the colour was when it was fresh). There were hundreds of them scattered around the field and i was wondering if libs would grow here when the weather was right ?

I can't say, the best way to find that out is to get out there and look.

That looks like the kind of area i find them in, but just because an area looks ideal doesn't mean they are gonna be there!

there is absolutely NO reason why they would NOT grow there based on the picture, however there are a TON of variables as to why they would not grow there.
I personally believe that they depend on a LARGE number of symbiotic relationships not only environmentally but phonetically and genetically.
The only way to guarantee that you find these mushrooms us by having found them in the past, only then can you really narrow down your hunt, and even begin to proliferate these mushrooms, which is something all of us love
I really wish you success in future hunts, and the best of luck

Phonetically? You sure that's the word you're looking for?
:P

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
