Elevation effects during Colonization
    #23763609 - 10/23/16 09:16 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

During substrate colonization, Ive noticed that tubs placed at an elevated level builds higher co2 levels (very wet), where as tubs placed at groundlevel are drier, but still colonize.

Whats the reason for this, is it because the cooler air is at ground level, hence its cooler at lower elevations, as a opposed to higher temps at higher elevations?

The temperature difference in a room from floor to ceiling shouldn't be very high, unless you have huge rooms with tall ceilings or you are currently heating or cooling the room.
It is possible that there is more air moving around near the floor so those tubs could be getting a bit more airflow.
Also, each tub creates a bit of heat, and if you stack your tubs, this could lead to each subsequent tub being a little warmer than the last.

What do CO2 levels have to do with wetness?
How do you know the CO2 levels are actually higher?
