Dear friends,
On the look out for psilocybe cyanescens but have a number of others I'd like identifying please, there may be on cyanscens or just a few look alikes, I'll start with them ones:
1.
2.
3.
4.
I understand that the stems are usually lighter than the caps and that they 'blue' on picking... I assume this refers to the 'bluing up' of the stems once picked or damaged. I didn't notice this occur with wither of these though.
Other shrooms I came across, I made a few guesses (nearest match) based on a spotters guide I have but I'm sure some of you kind folk will be more accurate:
5. Sulpher Tuft?

6. Suillus Granulatus?

7. Oyster? I may go back for this!

8. These look funki, thick stems, could actually be Suillus Granulatus if 6 is not? Not a penny bun I don't think:

9. Pluteus Cervinus?

10. Sulpher Tufts?

Thanks a lot. Dd

He's right, and has every right to say it. It's bad form to type that way in a serious forum.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

If you think Mr. Piggy's right for ruining a new member's ID thread, and possibly his night, for doing nothing other than holding in the shift-key for a few letters in his title, then I'm not so sure you should be holding the TI badge. The badge isn't just about identification skills...it's also about leadership and providing an example.

I think this is dead on.. Yes TI's got to be good at shroomage... but damn if they arent helping situations then why be a TI? I dont want to seem Biased.
I think there is a point.. its hard to read and you dont need the attention..
Yet there is another point. there is a kinder way to say things... Its the internet boo hoo blah blah, I get it, we shouldnt be so sensitive on a freaking shroom forum... , but also were all here just to socialize about mushrooms right? The inexperianced users always learn fast here. But we should assist to make things as easily as possible.
To be fair this is the first time the OP has used capitalazation like this in a title, all the rest are normal. We should all cut each other some slack and stop moderating..... thats what im here for ..
Thanks for the ID's Joie, thats what is important.

I think you're giving Mr. Piggy too much credit if you're calling such outright nastiness "moderating." He completely spoiled the thread...all for the hopes of garnering some laughs from the boys.

if you have a problem with people report it to a moderator like everyone else and they will take care of it. Theres no need to call someone out, its just makes things worse.

I see nothing wrong in pursuading a user to observe better etiquette in the forum. Beyond that, I cant see this thread as being ruined, as the topic question is already answered and the good doctor must have some thickness of skin to stick around this long. We are all a handfull but I generally like us all anyway.
Hug it out.

Actually, canid, I think you might be defending Mr. Piggy because you happen to be a TI that also goes around being nasty in people's threads like Mr. Piggy. I think it might be a leadership problem in general too.
