I bought a 50w submersible put that in a large tub with about eight gallons of water and floated a smaller tub on top of that with hard in it and I'm getting jack shit. It's not hearing the water whatsoever.

So, how cold is your room that you're going through all this to raise the temp for your jars?

65F-75F is perfect.  The 80-86F is outdated and disproved.

I've read otherwise on here. My jars are taking an average of six weeks to colonize. I would like to incubate to speed it up.

I am storing my jars at 19°C ~ 66F
When I am using LC or agar wedges the jars are done in 10-15 days.

How do you prepare your jars? Do you use grain or pf tek (rice flour / vermiculite)?

Well how old was the post/info that you read it from?  Because within the last 15 years or so we've known that bacteria favors high temps more than cubensis, which actually slows down after 83F.

The entire point is to give the mycelium a competitive advantage over the contaminants.  Bacteria grows MUCH slower at 70F than 80-85F.  If you want to give bacteria that head start so your jars colonize one day faster then that's on you.

you read bad info, which happens. incubation isn't going to speed it up anyway.

I'm using rice flour and vermiculite thend inoculating with spore syringes. Golden teachers. Storing in cardboard boxes in a closet at anywhere between 68 and seventy two degrees.

well written Inocuole.

You should listen to experienced people thesupersoap33.
If you want you can try to incubate. Make everything like you want but be prepared for some disappointments.
Patience is very important in this hobby... you can make jars everyday so jars are always ready to use. NO need for an incubator.

Most of the people who suggested incubation were rated. You're right about the jars though. I don't have any fully colonized right now and it would be so cool if I did!I'm

Is there anything I'm doing that could make my process more time efficient?

I'd not be worrying about time efficiency.  Mushrooms will hate you and shit all over you for trying to put them on your idea of a schedule.  Play by their rules or get scraps, basically.
