I found this in my backyard growing on grass. Anyone know what it is? It definitely smells a little, but not too much.

Maybe an entoloma species? I'm honestly not sure at all, but that was the first thing to come to mind.

I'm not sure about that either, they have something in common but overall it looks somewhat different.. There were about 20 of them, a little spread out from each other but in a common area, if that helps.

Can you post pictures that better show the gills? Are the gill edges different in color from the faces? They resemble entoloma subserrulatum, which is distinguished by that feature.
In some cases, it's very pronounced (see here for picture): http://www.mushroomexpert.com/images/kuo5/entoloma_subserrulatum_02.jpg
But it can be much less noticeable in some collections such as this one ( http://mushroomobserver.org/observer/show_observation/215251 ). And while I don't see this in your pictures, they are a little blurry, so it is conceivable that if it were a less pronounced case, it could be difficult to see in your pictures.
Here's a general picture of the species: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3478/3838080292_84d7dd188c.jpg
If the gill edges are not differently colored, it's likely one of the myriad of poorly described and documented light brown North American entolomae.

The coloring of the mushroom online vs. in person:
Is the stem grey or blue or grey/blue? Or is it colored like the cap? Hard to judge, thanks.
Entoloma seems reasonable for now

It was found in germany and I highly doubt that I found some rare, poorly described mushroom on my first hunt.. I'd say the gill edge is a little more brown-ish than the white middle, see the pictures below, but it's hardly noticeable.

Hmm, I think you're right there. They look basically like these http://mushroomobserver.org/183732?q=2rHxZ just with the difference that the cap is more stripy.
Either way, thank you everyone!

Spore info and a habitat shot might help in this case. I was considering a few genera of small mushrooms with decurrent gills, Arrhenia and Myxomphalia and stuff.

I looked at ARrhenia also. The last photos show the stems better too

I just had a look at it and I can confidently say that's true, they really do look exactly like 'Omphalina Arrhenia'. Now I wonder if those are actually edible?

properly done, time to drop spores and time for print do dry - 12 to 24 hours. These are not something I would spend a lot of effort to identify as edible. It's most likely not and I haven't really seen anyone collecting them for the table.

I see. Well I suppose I'll wait for the spore print and hopefully find some new mushrooms tomorrow or so thank you for your help so far tho!
