Tea as a potent fertilizer

Ok so its conclusive that tea can be used as a fertilizer, So I've decided to post more data.
Below is an image of the energy and nutritional composition of 100g of raw tea. Here is a link for the nutritional composition of dry rye, change to 100g.

As you can see raw tea is richer than rye. And is starch free.
Here is the energy composition of tea:
Theophylline: C7 | H8 | N4 | O2. Theobromine: C7 | H8 | N4 | O2. Caffeine: C8 | H10 | N4 | O2. Theaflavin: C29 | H24 | O12. Cellulose: C6 | H10 | O5. Tannins: C76 | H52 | O46. Catechin: C15 | H14 | O6. Carotene: C40 | H56.
Tea is also antibacterial.

I wish I paid attention more in science class.

Its funny you posted this. I had suspicions that tea had nutritional properties from how the mycelium reacts to it in agar. It isnt a bad reaction just seems the mycelium is a little slower on tea infused agar which I suspect is from the added nutrients.
The antibacterial properties are 100% correct and is something everyone should try. I think using tea infused water as the base for LC would be benifical. Especially if green tea is used which will keep things relatively clear in the culture.

Aha, so you did my tea slurry. Ha ha amazing. Thanks for verifying my findings. Amazing job at cleaning infected dowels with tea power.

As far as all my findings, you can read everything I have learned in my pocket guide. In terms of how katbusa handled the agar mixture, I hope he shares.

Your very welcome, make sure you checkout Gr0wer's growing tek's. He uses fertilizer and got me into using and testing it.

Will definitely be trying this for grain soak and when prepping coir. Also since it's antibacterial I was thinking about testing it with agar for some wild clones which keep showing singes of contamination.

So using tea water for your agar plates would be a good approach if you were trying to clean up a bacterial ridden sample or wild clone?

Yes it is. Both types of teas Green and black which is from the Camellia sinensis bush. Green tea has more potency for antibacterial but both do fine.
I'm not exactly sure how much to use. I did 25 grams of tea to 1L which is alot. I did this on purpose so I had a known base line on what worked. From a few papers I have read say that the normal cup of green tea dilution has a significant effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. However this is not a one shot kills all solution because some bacteria is resistant.
Without a doubt though it is a good place to start and I was successful in cleaning a very dirty dowel culture. Plus I like using natural methods instead of going full nuclear with Antibiotics.
Also like Ferather has stated in several of his posts. The tea slurry or tea liquid can be used to infuse your cultures. It does have nutrients and the fact it can help add that extra bit of protection for your grows is an added bonus.
I will be posting soon an agar tek with the results of several different tea batches at different potency's.

Probably should incinerate those cultures that don't work so that bacteria doesn't go wild.
I'm having a go at doing some tea supplementation at the moment. Nothing too scientific but interesting nether less.
I look forward to seeing your results with the agar.
