why can't we make mushrooms on straw easier?

Commercial mushrooms growers use 57 different thermophilic microbial in phase 2 composting. Some of which are stored in plates to breed and add to compost when lacking. Why aren't we doing the same with are actives? It's makes straw almost more contaminate resistant then coir. We could use this to make no failure in subs like cow/horse shit.

It's already easy to make no failure substrates...just pasteurize it right, spawn it with clean spawn, and keep in clean conditions. Home grows are much different and simpler than commercial mushroom farms, we don't need to do that kind of stuff to get the results we need.

edit: Also much of the  practical use stuff is probably trade secrets that farms probably aren't really wanting to fully disclose. I've never really heard much about that stuff honestly. Please share with us what you know for sure.

I hated spawning to straight straw. But colonizing it invitro is not only easy, it results in great yields. My straw method is super cheap as well, all it requires is straw and a bag of whole wheat flour.

Thats a nice write up pasty! I also don't care for straight straw too much. It gives me the worst return on spawn and it's such a mess to deal with the prep.

Yeah straw can be a bitch to work with. Spawning to it usually only returns one flush as well. Those invitro containers can flush for damn near forever tho, even putting out decent yields into the 3rd and 4th flushes.
