my sally greened right up and seems to be liking the climate I have my MJ in. I acclimated some kratom cuttings to the same environment, and I think all are doing well.

My salvias still look like shit :frown:. I think I know what I did wrong. Which was transplanting them and then soaking the soil, and also not letting my family know that they should be dry when they are watered it's just my family are scatterbrains and sometimes I come over and the salvia is lying on the ground, no turgor pressure in stems at all, because they've been dry for days. I hate having to ask my family for help on this but where I live I have no room yet to bring everything over.

@jackson: I do smoke DMT like once a year, just not those particular super nice crystals.

Also unrelated but all 3 dream herb cuttings I took rooted!!!!!! I'm going to start a garden journal very soon because I'm good with trichs, worse with lophs, and horrible with salvia and need a way for people to monitor my techniques and progress and give advice, if they have the time.

@jelly fish bro you don't have a small closet or something?
I'm growing all my plants in a small closet, my gf is pissed but it works.

I got my blosser clone thanks to @amonra

She'll perk up soon she was in a box for a few days.
I'm really excited.

Plan is to let her settle in, I'll transplant her in a few days or maybe a week then let her settle and get a bit bigger then throw her into flower with a gordon and wasson  clone and go from there.

I may even make a separate thread of my own to document the whole process and hopefully get my new genetics to some people like Paul stamens.

that might sound a little worse and exaggerated than i meant - but it was a pain and took a long time and yea well im noob and I was tying to acclimate it to my indoor climate in spring PNW but didnt really get comfortable until I got it used to being outside. also I didnt mention in that post that I broke my plant in half like 3 weeks after I got it. I dropped something heavy on it.. I think it was the light mount for my grow light. i had to tape it back together and it healed itself. you cant see in the pic but the base is Jacked

Why would a closet help?

Also I don't know how many of you saw my sick salvia pics and I will post more tomorrow but does anyone know if perhaps over watering might not be my only issue and is instead temp. What temps so they tolerate? They are in a basement and it's a bit lower than room temp (I will check tomorrow)

Kinda thinking about hiding this thread,
my salvia plant finally bit it and it makes me sad all you guys with your healthy plants :P

I tried real hard for her, I think she contracted something in that long shipping travel and just never was able to fight it off

or I killed it
it never got enough light

I'll wait til it warms up again to try for another,

Well it keeps my cats out of my indoor garden but if you don't have pets why not just grow your plants in your room?

Salvia doesn't require very much light a single 24watt cfl worked wonders for mine.

Hey everyone, I got this little sally a month ago and shes been doing pretty well, slowly putting on a few more leaves. But in the last couple days I've noticed the ends of some of the leaves are wilting. One leaf fell off entirely. They've always had the little dead tips, but now it's escalating to some more serious wilting. The soil is most, and I'm pretty careful not to over water. Does this look like something to worry about? The leaf furthest left is getting soft around the tip/edge.

Yeah she's in really good shape man thanks a ton.
She's just leaning over because of how she was in the box I guess some light was poking through or something.
A few days of light and she'll stand right up.

Then next step will be a repot ASAP.

I think she looks good. The soil could use a bit more drainage I don't really see any perlite and perhaps she could use a bit more light also, but otherwise my sallies leaves always eventually shrivel up and fall off, but it's usually when they get pretty old...

Higher humidity might make the leaves transpire less and maybe they'd last longer but it never seemed to be an issue with my plants.

I don't live same place I grow because I live with my extended family and don't have room at the moment or money to get lights and stuff going here. So I grow at my parents. I've put my salvias on the top shelf away from where my cat could get to them but they look really bad guys. Really afraid of losing them. My brother told me today they were dry and he gave them a bit of water but told me the basement is getting pretty cold and asked me what temps salvia can  tolerate. I'll post pics tomorrow but they won't be pretty. At all.

They're tropical a subtropical climate plants so I'd say ideally you wouldn't want the temperature getting below 68 degrees ferenheit.

A little bit of water is okay, what is going on right now is the tops will dry out faster than the bottom of the pot. Only water the tops when they get dry about 2 inches down.

You can stick your pincky finger into the soil all the way down the the hand and if it's wet don't water it.

You gotta let the bottom dry out so only water enough to get the top layer wet when they dry out more than 2inches.

After a few weeks of doing this the plants roots will get more oxygen and they'll start getting better.

I "purposely" left a clone outside in the cold weather. It survived about a week in temperatures just below freezing. It did seem to have giant ball of roots, though. After that week it got warm again and it sprang back but then immediately died as soon as it hit around -6C.

RIP salvia clone I accidentally forgot about and then used to get valuable data from.

Time to bring my plants inside for the winter I think. The plant nearest the wall is the Blosser but I am not sure about the one nearest to the camera. It looks somewhat different and is growing much slower.

Unfortunately I don't have any flowering plants this year as these are too small.

Awwww, it's death wasn't in vain.

I just read somewhere today the ideal temps for salvia divinorun are in the 60s F, so I guess they can handle a bit of cold, but not frost.

Here's a pic from yesterday after some rearranging and pruning/ taking clones.

I put a clone in my empty SGFC to see how well it would help with limiting the plants respiration from the high levels of humidity and I gotta say I like what I'm seeing so far.

A lot easier than working with bags or bottles for humidity domes for sure.
