Share your experience with Gymnopilus mushrooms.

Been a while since I posted on this site but I thought I'd start a thread and see if any of you guys could share your experience with Gyms.

I've heard a lot of varying things about the psychoactive components of these mushrooms.  Most recently I thought I read that it's never been proven that these guys contain psilocybin at all but this may have been in reference to a particular species.  I know there are some that are known to not be psychoactive at all.  But most accounts seem to suggest that Gyms usually contain psilocybin and psilocin, as well as another psychoactive compound like baeocystin.  Still the first two of those seem to be in much lower concentration compared to something like P. cubensis.

So it just makes me curious how far one could essentially go with Gyms.  I'd say my strongest trip with them was no more than a +3, when I was getting fairly strong visuals looking at my now fiance's butterfly wallpaper come to life.  This was off three very good condition mushrooms which ended up being 6 or 7 grams dry.  I've since had an experience with about 12 grams dry which wasn't even quite as strong.  So there's obviously some variance having to do with condition they're found in.

Anyway, let's hear some stories.  My thinking is that theoretically you should be able to get to a +5, if they do contain psilocybin.  But eating a storage bag worth of mushrooms seems irresponsible.  Maybe everything just has it's place and you should stick with cubes if you're looking to blast off.
