Some knots and pin porn..

Trays were cruising right along in colonization (MS/Rye/Manure) and then at around 90% they seemed like they stalled.. They appeared very dry so I gave a misting and put the lids back on.. Looked at it yesterday and it almost looked as if the myc receeded but the surface was knotted up.. I guess I triggered pinning by misting and having water evaporate off the sub..

Went ahead and put the two trays in the SGFC yesterday morning on a 12/12 6500k CFL light schedule.. This morning there was a substantial amount of primordia and even more knots across the surface of the sub.. Suckers are hard to get good pics of though..

The knots and pins seem to be distributed fairly well across the surface both in the middle and on the sides.. I'm misting it 2-3 times a day depending on the condition of the sub and misting it to just glistening, then fanning for a few minutes to expidite the evaporation process.. Is there anything else I should be doing?
This is my first crack at cultivation so all I'm operating on is what I have soaked up from here on the forum because I have zero prior experience with it.. This place is a great resource and I thank everyone who contributes to it!

I had a couple questions while I am on here.. I know not all knots will turn into primordia (at least that's what I read) but are there any extra steps I can take to get the maximum amount of knots to pin?

I wouldn't worry about too much, those knots that do not pin on first flush may pin on the 2nd flush. I wouldn't try to change any environmental variables now at this stage, especially not in a sgfc. In a mono you can play with FAE, sgfc's don't have that luxury.

Got a bunch of little bowling pins poppin up.. And a ton of knots still that will hopefully pin.. I'm keeping the temp btwn 68-72F.. I read that this slows things down a bit but it makes for denser and larger fruits.. Is that pretty accurate or should I allow a couple more degrees higher?

You could go higher without any issues, not sure on the larger denser fruits though. That last pic is a little concerning, tell me those bits of yellow orange and that orangy elongated bubble is a leaf. If not, keep a close eye on that area.

Exposed grains.. No fuckin clue how a few popped up because after mixing to the sub I put 1/4" of sub over the top of it and there wasn't a single damn grain exposed at that point.. Iono..
I've been studying that big ass thread of compiled RR notes and he mentions many times high 60's to low 70's will give you denser fruits.. Might bump it up a couple degrees tho..

Only reason I asked is because in the fourth pic you posted previously before this round of pics, there is a cluster of pins with a little orange to the left of them. That same cluster is in the last pic I mentioned, only those pins are gone and the orange looks like it overtook them
EDIT: never mind, I found the cluster. It's growing nicely. Your good. It's ok to mist your pins if needed as well

Those two pics you mentioned are actually from two different trays entirely.. The cluster in the 4th pic of the OP is the same cluster as the second pic in what I posted today.. I've been pretty vigilant about monitoring the surface for bullshits and don't see anything that looks threatening, at least to my untrained eye.. I'll def continue to keep an eye on it though..

Still scratching my head as to how those grains became exposed.. There wasn't a one showing when I spawned and put the lids on and the surface was not disturbed whatsoever after that.. Can growing myc get under them and push em up I wonder?

Yeah if knots formed under a grain, they push the dirt out of the way right?
