WBS Spawn Jar Question

I've got WBS quart jars filled 3/4 with a 1/3 inch layer of fine vermiculite in the bottom.
Reached about 30% colonization today and followed advice of a post here a while back to shake the jar disregarding the vermiculite in the bottom which has now dispersed unevenly through the jar.
Now the jars seem a tad dry around the glass and I am worried I may have hurt my chances of full colonization. Any input?

You shouldnt of put the dry verm in there. Youre suppose to just have WBS. You shake the jars at 25% colonization then let it fully colonize. I cant comment on your grain jars because thetes no pictures. When you do WBS you should clean and rinse the grains then let them soak for 12 to 24hrs. That way theyre nice and hydrated.

6QT Dub Tub Tek. I did rinse, 90 minute hot soak in sealed bucket, 90 minute 15PSI cook. Verm in bottom was supposedly to help absorb excess moisture, seems it pretty common in many quart jar WBS setups to have 1/4-1/3 cup very lining in the bottom

Knew about this, tried it and ended up messing one up so I said screwed it and broke up the colonization patches best I could without regard to verm. I'll be more careful, just wanna make sure i didn't f- this one up

I'll look into it, as long as it's available in my area. Hoping this batch works out for now and then I'll improvise on my next grow.

No matter what you do here your always gonna get someone telling you to do it differently until someone they respect try's it and says it's ok.not saying they are wrong.they are just following the teks they were taught imagen if coloumbus listend to the flat world theroy! I have done it both ways with and without the Verm ime using Verm in my jars helped when I first started to help correct my improperly preped spawn (too wet)the Verm seemed to give me a little more leniency until I perfected my hydration tek either way I wish you luck and if you like using the Verm it will not negatively effect your spawn it is nutrition less and simply absorbs excess h20 although you won't be able to extract the myc with steril water the Verm will clog syringe (why I stopped using Verm in spawn lmao)

Cool. Wasn't gonna extract any myc on this spawn anyways, hopefully it works out for the best.
