Mycelium water level in PF jars

Hey everyone.. So I inoculated these jars probably a month ago. The mycelium looks pretty good..only we made a heat mistake in the greenhouse, it got to 80 one day. One jar showed mold, it had falled the previous week off the table, threw it out. Other jars showed no mold. The mycelium seems to have slowed.. the temp is a constant 75 degrees in there. My question is have they died or stalled? Are the condensation levels appropriate? Should I just dunk the 2 good looking jars?

So we lost 2 jars. Hillbilly strain.. when they got too hot it had contams in it I guess.. because they both had green mold.
The 2 Cambodian jars seem ok.. just one has a bit of water on the bottom, and they're both probably 95% colonized. I'm worried

The mycelium has worked its way up to the dry verm..but it still looks dry. Will the mycelium still colonize the bottom since it's "under water"...
Think they're ok EVEN THOUGH it's been like a MONTH since they were inoculated :/

Anywho, 95% a month after inoculation is pretty good. Take a deep breath, keep them in the best environment you can, and let them hit 100% and consolidate. Find something else to keep you busy while they do so, I promise it makes it easier.
I'm a female lol but it's ok! I'm just glad our Cambodians haven't crapped out. Maybe Hillbilly is a bad strain?

It's hard to say about your strain. I've never heard of them, but with the exception of mutants like PE and KSSS for example that really have apparent differences, they're all just cubes, and they don't know that someone gave them a name for marketing purposes. Besides, if anything they're a variety - a strain happens every time two spores join, so your jar has hundreds of strains.
In any event, in fairness you are using tall half pints which can lend to problems. Plus, the nature of the PF tek is more contam prone since you're inoculating with an MS syringe that is at a minimum bacterial, and certainly not clean like an agar culture. I personally dislike the PF tek immensely. Once I started agar and grains I've never looked back. You should consider doing the same. The biggest hurdle is getting a PC. After that, most everything costs no more than $10 and you can do basically anything you want in this hobby.
Full pint jars. We inoculated suuper sterile. Lol lots of rubbing alcohol and flame sterilized needle.. so hopefully that went ok with the 2 other jars. We have 1 spore syringe left, and were reading up on rye, so something new should be fun

amidogen said: Just realize spore syringe directly to grains is not advised and an enormois crap shoot. PF cakes can handle bacteria, but grains aren't as forgiving and tend to turn green. You can do it, but you really should only inoculate grains with a clean agar culture.
Thanks!!!
