2 cakes 1 cup

After all is said and done, the first flush from the 2 cakes of TC that were early came out to 2.64g dry, powdered. I dried them in my ugly drum smoker and it took less than 30m. I could probably get 2.5 to 3 lbs in that thing. It will run for 12+ hours with no babysitting on one load of charcoal, temp range from 175 to 500+, and you can smoke food in it as well. At the low end of the temp spectrum there is no smoke, just heat and airflow. Sounds like I'm trying to sell the smoker/dehydrator idea a bit, doesn't it
I'm sad at such a small take, but at the same I'm happy that I got anything to grow at all, and I'm learning as I go,to boot. All of it went into a cup with the juice of 1 lemon. I let it sit for 1h, mixed with water, and had a really nice day outdoors afterwards.
The first 2 fruits were a little smallish, but the rest were like straws, with tiny little caps. I figure I under watered, and am correcting on the following cakes. Will note and report differences. Could also be a FAE problem. Could be both. Tweak and observe.
I took 8 prints and started 2 LC's( I have everything for PDA except the agar agar, which is in the next town over ) since TC is OOS where I prefer to shop. I also made up 15 syringes for the immediate needs. I have 3 sets of 10 jars spaced a week apart in the pipeline as well (plus another 6 in the FC ), all in the hopes of finding a really nice specimen or 10 that I can focus on.
Welp, that's about it. Try to learn from what I did wrong and try to not be a repeat offender, lol. Key word is try.

How did you make your lc? Im sorry what was your question? If its about yeild i say get your tc to help with culture work then move on to grains. If not moving to grain is your thing. Still work form your print with a tigor drop to agar plate tranfer into new plates until clean. Last after you have a clean colonised plate tranfer a small bit to a new plate then use the old plate to made muda borderless li. Pour about 10 ml of li on new cakes. Fruit as normal and really cuts down on colonised times. Then just repeat with the new plate you made once your cakes are done. Clean cultures make better yeild.

I plan on moving to grains(WBS is what i have on hand) and working with agar. I have to get the agar, and I have to pick up a bag of verm.
I have seen a marked improvement with dunking the cakes at the onset of pins. Hopefully heavier misting plus the dunking will produce a better yield. The problem may also be that I used a 3yo syringe. It took forever to colonize, and I still have one that is consolidating with 6 days left. The jars I made from a print seems to me to be colonizing hella quick compared to the last run.
