How about DESTROYING plants instead of growing them?
    #2370854 - 02/23/04 05:12 AM (20 years, 1 month ago)

ok, there so much info on growing plants and everything but what happens when we have to deal with an unwanted plant that has it's roots more than well attached to the ground?
who thinks of dynamyte, forget. i won't blow a crater in my patio not even if i could.
any ideas anyone? i would be very thankful!

yes, the surroundings should be kept as untouched as possible, will you suggest me to dig it out? no way it would work out!

zeta: your link looks empty to me!

megosh: an axe is what i always use, makes the root even stronger.
what i'm trying to kill is a small tree you probably don't have in US, it's leaves are bippinate but only with one couple of leaves, resembling the footprint of a caw's pawn, hence its popular name, 'caw's pawn'. it produces a pod that resembles slightly the yopo or mesquite ones.

i've been thinking of perfurating it with a building graver and hammer or something like that to the 'core'... and going the farther i can, perhaps this could kill the whole damn thing.
what do you think?

thanks a lot guys for the inputs! you're great!

we used to use seaweed pellots disolved in water at my cabin.... only poor the water in small areas surounding the plant... it's roots will shrivel and die almost over night...

just a hint.

I remember something like if you take a razorblade and cut a circle around the trunk of the tree it will die - just something I recall my mom talking about once.
